The Computer Cellar is owned by Daryn O'Shea, who started Triangle Laptops in Charlotte, NC, and then began serving Durham in 2003. Initially the company focused on internet sales of laptop repair parts. However, as the company grew in Durham, the crew found themselves testing, repairing, and rebuilding laptops for internal use, as favors for friends, and eventually for resale.

It's a heart-stopping sound, that muffled *CRACK* you feel more than hear, as your laptop's LCD monitor cracks. Maybe you stepped on it, leaned on it, dropped it, closed it on your keys, or subjected it to extreme temperatures. One thing's for sure; right now you can barely see anything on the screen!
Most of the time, that's the extent of the description we get when somebody comes in! We get it, most people don't understand how the hardware and software works inside their computer; and most don't want to know. You just want it to work. And that's just fine. We can diagnose most PC and Mac problems quickly and efficiently.
Due to current massive product shortages on both current and last-generation components, we have temporarily suspended custom builds: simply put, we can't build you anything right now because we don't have access to parts. We hope to see this change in the coming months, but until then you may want to consider working with system integrators that have direct access to manufacturer supply.

While I'm no computer expert, I really appreciate how attentive the staff here is, how they don't talk down to customers, and how responsive they are to needs and questions. Texting with someone about my computer's status and figuring out the best next steps together, as I run other errands while in town? Amazing!

I conversed with staff via email/phone about my GPUs thermal issues, and brought it in for a re-paste. Not only did they complete the repair in a matter of hours, but they additionally took the time to put the card on a test bench and benchmark and test everything to make sure it was good to go before I picked it up! Excellent service and an overall very positive experience I would recommend to anyone in need of help with computer repairs.

This is THE BEST computer repair shop in the Triangle-(period). I dropped my laptop and bent the power button. It was still under warranty so I took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy.They wanted to charge me $345 and also recommended I pay an additional $100 to backup my data just in case. Compuer Cellar fixed it in 20 minutes for $37.00! These guys are AWESOME.

I cannot recommend this shop enough if you need a computer repair. They saved the day for me when my MacBook Pro keyboard and trackpad stopped working. The staff were professional, friendly, and explained exactly what they were going to do to fix the computer. Best of all, they fixed my laptop in only two hours and for a price that was even lower than what they quoted me! Plus, they also have a really awesome vintage computer collection on display in the store. I’m definitely going back here next time I need a repair for my device.

My MacBook was frozen for a long time and I was told I would need to leave it at a service desk for many days just to diagnose the problem but this place fixed it in one night and for less than I expected. They were really nice and had previous experience with this kind of problem. They are lifesavers.

I don’t think I can say enough good things about this place. From my first initial phone call (I spoke with Gabriel) to picking up my order- it was a fantastic experience. They’re super professional and more importantly, super transparent. The shop was clean and appealing when I walked in. I worked with Gabriel again when I got there. I bought my laptop in to have the palm rest replaced after a sticky liquid spill that ruined my keyboard and touchpad and they were able to swap it out and have my computer back to me on the same day! Everything is now working perfectly. Everyone that I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. I was amazed by the quickness and the quality of the service and would highly recommend anyone looking for any kind of hardware work to go to them. The price was extremely fair and reasonable.
