Mae's Cafe!! I've been coming here since the mid 1990s when it was Jon's Coffee Shop. This was my high school hangout with my friends. The coffee is ground in-house and solid, the OJ is squeezed fresh, service is always good! The food isn't always 100% but let me tell you my favorites that have always done me right...! The omelets, strawberry waffle, any pancake meal, the eggs are always perfect, the side salad is served on a cold plate (classic!), good ranch!!, and the Frisco burger is delightful! Such an old school funky diner! The bathrooms are funky in a bad way (they're ew) but my nostalgia

A mom and pop neighborhood diner. The food is similar to Denny's. It's inexpensive and one of the few places that serve lyonnaise potatoes which are thinly sliced potatoes pan fried with thinly sliced onions.
I got eggs Benedict with extra crispy hash browns. Nothing special. It's just on English muffin with ham and two eggs with hollandaise sauce for $10.95.
The bf got country fried steak with lyonnaise potatoes and his sister got BLT.

I would totally give a 5 stars if it wasn't for my man asking me "hashbrowns?" unfortunately they forgot to put this but it was definitely a staple of the dish. Unique flavors, good quality. I will stick with satisfying my pancake and waffle cravings from here on outreally nice and humbled employee, seems like the owner most likely.

This place is ALWAYS incredible. A bad meal at Mae's beats the best meal almost everywhere else! And in the past 13-14 years...I have never had a bad meal.
I typically settle on breakfast...I love the Lyonnaise potatoes option. However 75%+ of the time I get Mae's Manly breakfast. No other spot has this...and if they did, they wouldn't do it as Manly as Mae!
Love this place!!!

This place is so comforting. The humble and homely service, simple diner offerings, fair prices, and old but well-kept and clean facility earns this place a 5 star rating.
The food may not be out of this world, but there's something so satisfying about a consistent restaurant that's been a neighborhood staple. Their portions are generous and the prices are lower than Denny's. What more could you ask for?

Absolutely Amazing Good Eats at a family owned Diner in the Heart of Little Saigon Garden Grove. Julie my waitress is a seasoned professional and very friendly with good suggestions for Breakfast today. I loved the sizzling pork chops with onions and mushrooms. It was perfection!!! The Lentil soup was excellent too. The Marco Polo breakfast special was not my favorite because the Hollandaise sauce was kinda sour but everything else was good. The Coffee is black and hot and fresh. I met a retired Veteran and he is a regular customer here too. Mae's Café is famous for their long history

Best bang for you buck when it comes to diner food in the proximity of Garden Grove.
Definitely come for the manly meal and order your steak rare- it will keep cooking on their hot sizzling skillet.
In short, this is a glorified Denny's but with better food.
Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.
