Services
The Hillsboro Eye Clinic, established in 1971, is a practice with 6 ophthalmologists and approximately 35 support staff. Full optical and contact lens dispensing is offered. The practice is located in Hillsboro, Oregon approximately 15 miles west of Portland with major freeway access. The physicians operate primarily at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, blocks away from the main office.
When choosing a physician, it is important to make an informed choice. This involves knowing the qualifications, training and experience of your physician. Our doctors are trained in today's modern diagnostics, treatments, procedures and equipment. We have extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment for different eye diseases and conditions.
He attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg, graduating in 1968. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1972. After serving his internship at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Francisco, Dr. Lumaco returned to Seattle where he practiced family medicine for four years.
He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Idaho in 1994 with a degree in zoology and American government. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Washington in 1998. Dr. Goins completed his internship at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane in 1999. He returned to Seattle to complete his ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington in 2002.
At Hillsboro Eye Clinic, we are equipped with the latest technology in diagnostic and examination equipment. This allows us to provide our patients with the most thorough, comprehensive eye examinations available. Routine eye exams are very important to monitor the health of your eyes, as well as to determine your need for glasses.

Years ago I purchased eyeglasses from Hillsboro Optician and never wore them because the bifocal was too high and obscured my vision. I took them back, but the technician would not remake them because he was right and I was wrong. He has been there a long time. I never went back. It’s 2017 and I got my eyes checked and needed a new prescription. The prescription had to be picked up in the optician side of the office.
