Small crew of 3 people, but still very very fast. Gave me fair pricing for the two things I asked for. Went in for a brake check as well, & they told me what pads should be replaced on top of other tire things that need replacement soon but not urgent. Also found the source of an oil leak no one else could find without 7 different test. Really great shop 👍

I booked appointment they got me in asap day and time that worked for me. I was in & out same day with multiple services. Truck is running great and I can drive confident to work.

These mechanics were fast, professional, and fair priced. My water pump went out, I had a defective motor mount that I knew for awhile needed replaced, some of my fan belts and radiator hoses were old and cracked. I came in and got all of that fixed. On a separate occasion, a motorist flagged me down in traffic and notified me that I had no brake lights, I pulled back into this mechanic shop and they quickly got my brake lights working again. Good job!

I was stranded in Auburn last week and I'm from out of town heading to Grass Valley. I started calling auto shops and this place answered. I just want to say that they were so nice and professioal. R & J went above and beyond to repair a caliper on my Jeep when a bolt fell out lodging it against the inner wheel surface. It was several hours before the Jeepers Jamboree was scheduled in Georgetown, CA. The owner personally left for Napa Auto parts to find a matching bolt and I was ready to go in an hour or less. I am beyond thrilled with this place. They were thoughtful and honest. I took car in thinking the transmission was going out, so they could have easily lied but they said my transmission was fine. I paid $300 for repairs compared to $3k i thought i was going to have to pay.

They done good. Yes I can rave about there friendly service and clear communication; yes I could talk about the reasonable pricing. Yes, I could share about the quick turnaround to fix my car. Those are all great. But the best part is the fixed it and fixed it right, with no upselling. Sweet! They were nice enough to point out some maintenance things that needed to be done soon; which I appreciated.

I went to R&J after reading the reviews. Many 5 stars and 3 lower ratings. First yes I am a retired engineer and what I have forgotten over my lifetime is more than others will ever learn. But I do know that your mechanic is your car doctor. You must be able to trust him, and get value from the service. But personality and cost are not the top concerns. Steven is not a warm and fuzzy type of guy, and keeping a shop open is expensive. And yes people are human and sometimes miss things. Taken two of my vehicles there for different reasons. Alan is always honest, quick and has super pricing. I always call around and no one compares. Most recently I was quoted $1000 for the job that ended up being $125, imagine my elation!!! Highly recommend!!!

These guys are awesome! I brought in my old Subaru and usually I'm given a bunch of estimates on things I didn't know I needed but Alan was very to the point in giving me the cheapest way to get things done. Which as a 04 car owner I appreciate. My car gets me from point a to b, I don't need the bells and whistles and he understood that. Best mechanic experience I've ever had honestly! I will be taking my car here from now on.

The owner is rude, judgmental, and only cares about money NOT the costumers. But the reason I refuse to take my car here is because they are overly priced and these guys are the type of mechanics who take advantage of people (and their wallets) who don't know anything about vehicles (hence why people take their vehicles to the shops). Don't be swindled, there is tons of great mechanics in auburn.

Dealt with Allan, who is a really friendly guy. Asked him to check out the brakes on my recently purchased 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He advised replacing rear pads. Paid $230 for this, which I now realize was way more than I should have paid. Brakes started squeaking the next day, but thought that may be a break-in symptom. Brought it back in 2 weeks later and asked why. They charged me $50 and claim to have fixed it. still squeaks very loud. $280 down the drain for work that I will need to have all the work done by someone else. Premium price tag for low quality work, at least for brakes.

Best mechanics around. Never rip you off! They do what is necessary, nothing not needed. Very fair.

Quite simply, the folks at R&J are top-notch and have not failed to surpass my expectations! I came in a couple of days before Thanksgiving with a number of things to check out, and they got it done, called me during the day to discuss what they found and even gave me a lift and back to a nearby coffee shop where I could work while they were working on the car.

Service was ok. Paid about $100 more that i should have. They would not budge on price, no discounts for veterans or Purple Heart. Its all good. In the end, thanks for getting my vehile fixed but sometimes its the lil things that make a difference and keeps people coming back.

The guys at R&J Auto Repair are extremely knowledgeable about car repairs! They rebuilt the engine in my Mitsubishi about 5 years ago and that car runs better than when it was new. I brought it in recently to get a new timing belt and repair some other things. And I swear it still runs better than when I first got it. These guys know their stuff and they are hilarious to boot! It's a good feeling knowing that they will take great care of my car! I can't thank them all enough!

It's so ridiculously hard to find trustworthy mechanic shops these days. The guys at R&J have done nothing but right by me and my family. Alan is super friendly and patient, I'm a nineteen year old girl who knows next to nothing about cars yet he took the time to explain everything to me in detail with patience. The first time I went in he quoted me $400 when I picked up the car I paid $216. That's a very rare occurrence in my experience. Horrible. Surprised by the service after I read the other reviews. The clerk was on the phone when I walked in. He stayed on the phone for about ten minutes while I waited. All I got during this time was a finger in the air. He didn't even glance at me.
When he finally did get off the phone, it seemed like talking to me was annoying him. He was short and rude. Definitely say this place is the best in town. Get the work you need done, quickly and cheap. Stephen worked on my car and did an outstanding job. Didn't try to upsell anything to me and just offered suggestions after the last mechanic I saw tried to rip me off.

My Mom, Step Dad, and Sister all had wonderful experiences here and swear by this place. Their cost of labor is normal and they didn't try to charge me anything above market for the part they replaced. My 3 stars mainly concerns the fact they told me they had checked everything and it was only the battery that needed to be replaced. I was even told that everything else under the hood was looking good. 24 hours later my new battery was dead and my car wouldn't start. I called back to let them know the problem and they told me to bring it back in but they would have to charge me the labor

I will always take my cars here. Art and Alan are probably the two mechanics in town that I trust 100%. They may not be the cheapest in town but they are straight foward and will not do things that don't need to be done like other places I have been.
