Dr. Gregg W. McKenzie has been a periodontist and implant dentist in Columbia, SC, since 1980. As a cutting-edge periodontal practice, our mission is to improve oral health, total health, and quality of life in the communities we serve by delivering compassionate, state-of-the-art dental care in a comfortable environment.
Since 1980, Dr. Gregg W. McKenzie has been providing his patients with exceptional periodontal care, focusing on improving their dental and overall health. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in microbiology at McNeese State University, Dr. McKenzie earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at Louisiana State University Dental School in New Orleans, LA.
When you arrive at McKenzie Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, you will immediately be welcomed by our friendly staff who are waiting to serve you. If you have not already filled out new patient forms (available online or by mail), we will ask you to do so.
We encourage our patients to bring the referral form from their general dentist (but this is not required), any xrays taken by a referring dentist that may help in diagnosis, a comprehensive list of any medications you are currently taking, and any dental insurance cards you may have.

Every visit is the same, excellent!
From the minute you walk in the door, you feel comfortable and welcome. The waiting area is very clean and, if you get the chance to sit there a minute or two, because you’re always taken on time, if not a couple of minutes of your appt time.
Dr McKenzee and his staff are all very professional, do a meticulous oral review and detailed cleaning.
Excellent services and warm, friendly staff.

What a lovely group of people in this office! Dr. McKenzie is a jokester; made me laugh and feel very comfortable. His explanation of what I needed to have done was very thorough. Gave me all the time I needed to ask questions. Dr. McKenzie’s Assistant assistant was pleasant and also informative! The receptionist explained all my dental benefits clearly and with a smile and never rushed me. On the way out, the secretary that checked me out was professional and answered a few questions I had. As with previous oral surgeries he has performed on me the results are always great and discomfort is minimal. He is a gifted man who goes to great lengths to assure your comfort both during and after these procedures . He is a man of great faith and I am convinced that his skills are enhanced due to that fact. Wish there were many more like him.

The ladies at the Front Desk were most friendly and efficient, a hardworking team, no doubt! If you’re needing perio work, this is definitely the place you want to go.

First visit to this doctor. The staff was professional and courteous. Everything was explained in detail. The doctor was easy going and delightful to talk to. He used real talk with a smile. Wow!! For a patient that dislike the dentist office with a passion WE are looking forward to our next visit. Walking in was just beautiful fireplace going smell very nice. I was greeted immediately with little to no wait time to be seen! The staff was amazing from Laura to Dr Greg amazing. My sweet daughter was emotional and Dr Greg was so nice and funny. The plus and I mean plus he prayed with us which mean the world to me. I will be telling my family/ friends about our experience one for the books. Our baby with the million dollar smile. Dr. McKenzie and his courteous and pleasant staff go above and beyond with excellence from the moment I walked in the door with a very painful infected broken tooth to an hour later in much better condition! He patiently explained all my options, answered all my questions, prayed with me and stayed after closing to treat me and quickly give me relief. He had a full load that day too but worked me in and was not rushed or tense. I highly recommend Dr. McKenzie and thank God for him!

Being a very satisfied patient of Dr Gregg McKenzie who has been my periodontist for many years, I trust him completely to provide the best services that are available anywhere. I remember the day that he gave me an injection in the roof of my mouth and I wasn’t even aware that he’d administered it because it was 100% painless-His skills are impeccable. His office is beautiful and clean with relaxing music playing. The dental chairs are massaging chairs, and the rooms are sparkling clean.
