Rug Depot Outlet
Jeanne and David Himy started to sell imported rugs 47 years ago at the Foreign Trade Zone in the China Basin area of what was then the gritty, industrial edge of San Francisco. As their business expanded, they moved their operations across the Bay to Emeryville, where they still run the original Rug Depot Outlet and a 20,000-sq.-ft.

If you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns, be sure to reach out to one of our friendly representatives. As always, you're more than welcome to stop by our massive showroom. We would love to give you a tour of our current inventory!

Hand-woven, wool rugs from Iran and the like are extortionately priced at this so-called Outlet. That being said, if you're keen on looking at rugs IRL, then I would recommend checking this place out. The shop is massive and the selection is fairly broad with area rugs, runners, prayer rugs and circular pieces. One can choose from the aforementioned fancy-pants rugs, machine-woven rugs, or synthetic rugs either sporting traditional designs or modern more patterns.

Even if one isn't going to purchase from Rug Depot, it may be a good place to get one's feet wet, as it were, if wanting

This is an amazing place to buy rugs on any budget! Literally saw 9x12 area rugs for only $200. And of course there are nicer rugs on the higher end. Also, they're having a 50% off sale on most items.

I really like that they have most of their rugs on those displays that hold them up so you can see the whole rug, unlike a lot of rug stores where they are stacked and you can only see the corner of the rug. It makes it easier to flip through their inventory.

Eduardo is great. Not pushy at all, not trying to sell you on any magic rug lol, just a nice guy being helpful I bought a beautiful

Really great spot! We needed a rug for our new house and found the rug depot searching online. Those working there offered help, gave us the information we needed and then let us browse. We found the perfect rug and were on our way!

I always drive by this place on my way to Ikea. I'm always intrigued by the size of the warehouse and the big banner saying they're having a sale.

When walking in, the place is massive. They have a huge collection and plenty of space to view each rug. It was really empty when I came on a Saturday afternoon, with 4 workers standing around and asking if I needed help.

When checking the price tag, I was quickly turned off. These rugs are super pricey. Even if they advertise 50% off, they must increase the price by 100% first because I can find cheaper rugs at IKEA, the flea market, Home

I've been purchasing rugs here for over 20 years. Great selection, best prices, fantastic customer service. Buy it, take it home, if it's the right color, you've got 48 hrs to make an exchange. If in the market for rugs, traditional or contemporary, $25-$50,000, don't miss the Rug Depot Outlet.

I have been buying rugs from Eduardo for 14 years and I have always gotten super buys on excellent rugs. Eduardo has spent literally hours helping me with my home and vacation home design planning and his recommendations have been right on the money. They are true to their word on returns and are a wonderful business. Eduardo also seriously knows his rugs!

This is the best place!! They have a huge selection which can kind of be overwhelming but don't worry, they are there to help and if you don't need help, they will not push you to buy anything! I had a super easy shopping experience. Would buy from them again.

A great selection of rugs, from the cheaper quality to the high end. Look for the red tags to try and walk out with a great price.

We just bought a rug for our living room. We got the perfect color and pattern for a 50% discount (They had a great sale going on). They have a huge collection! Service is good too -- they don't interfere until you ask them questions and they certainly never push you. So I like that kind of no pressure shopping/browsing. I would certainly recommend them.

These guys have very nice rugs. Are they the best sales people.....no. They didnt ask me anything about why I wanted the rug or where I would be putting it. They did come down from $949 to $560 so we are looking at 43% off.
If you want a huge selection of rugs, hit these guys up. The quality is also way nicer than anything you will get at Target or Ikea.

I recently bought a gorgeous area rug here. I spent more than I planned to but really liked it and it was the only one of its kind in the store. I got it home and within 24 hours, the thing is pilling and shedding little rug balls. I am really disappointed. And now I have to vacuum it daily to avoid it looking like a small furry animal died on it.

I should've known better when I walked in and the people working there acted rude and shady!

If you've never bought a rug before, read about how to buy rugs. When you go to this place, you'll see $200 rugs next to $2,000 rugs, what's the difference, mainly the numbers on the price tags. This place has been in Emeryville for at least a decade, and I have seen every kind of sign on it: going out of business, grand opening, final liquidation, etc.

You probably can get a good deal here if you hit the right day when they move they swap a $200 tag to a formerly $2,000 carpet.
