Come out and experience one family's effort to preserve history thru Jim's collection of authentic 1800 antique log cabins.
Explore the outdoors; you and your family may spy a Pileated woodpecker, a big buck, wild turkey, or Bobcat; hear the wild coyote symphony at dusk; stroll in the afternoon through acres of gardens and woods; and don't forget Katy's home cooked country breakfast in the morning, served in front of a sandstone fireplace!

Me, my wife and my 6 year old son stayed in the Church Cabin for 3 nights and loved it. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel go elsewhere. If you're looking for a rustic cabin with an olde style 1800's feel and experience this is your place. Jim and Katy made our stayed pleasant with their country style hospitality and delicious breakfast! Make sure to get good use out of the fireplace!!!

This place and atmosphere is one of a kind. This type of living is what being connected to nature is like. This is good country living. Alot of people have a romanticized view of the country and want it tied up in a pretty bow. Well here you'll get good company and fresh air, so if that's what your looking for you have found it here. Might you find some cob webs and rough edges? Yes, but that's the beauty in it. The breakfast was delicious. Jim and Katy were the kindest people, very great host. There grand kids kept my daughter plenty of company. This trip reminded me of being back home in Kentucky

I would first like to say that this place has a lot of potential. It has a great view and the layout of the cabin is decent. However, the cleanliness is below average. The owners seem kind and were thoughtful but the place just needs a lot of work. It seems they do not pay attention to details. There was dust everywhere, a dead bug in the windowsill when we arrived, cobwebs everywhere, mold in the fridge, stains in the shower, bugs and cobwebs on the couch, a tick in the towel basket, and stains on the sheets. The plumbing was also very iffy. The shower was scorching hot no matter which direction

This isn't the place for you unless you really like old stuff, and don't mind some filth with it. The owners are very accommodating, but their cabins could definitely use some cleaning and updating. The shower was filthy, the AC unit was loud and only kept the downstairs moderately cool, the bed wasn't comfortable, etc. But once again if you want an authentic, antique experience, this may be the place for you.

Want to walk through a time machine and find yourself in a mid 1800s "squatter" log cabin? That's what this place is like. The best part was the wood fire crackling as we went to sleep in its glow, and then hearing about the history of the cabins from Jim at the delightful breakfast. Rating should go to 6⭐!

This was a wonderful place to stay. Jim and Katy were wonderful hostesses and the breakfast was AMAZING! This is an amazing place that is indeed rustic and full of experiences! The atmosphere is relaxing and views are beautiful. I loved swinging on the porch which was a great way to start and end the day. There was also a beautiful pond which we had a great time fishing at! Like some of the comments mentioned this is like steeping back in a time machine. These cabins are definitely rustic and may not be for everyone but it was the perfect place for my husband and I to get away!

Place could be over 5 stars. Jim and Kate the owners seem nice. Had fire going when we arrived. Jim was there to meet us. Kate made me a b day basket with home made cookies and bread. Our cabin was pretty neat. Lots of stuff to look at , books, games, puzzles.
Cabin was dirty, dishes were dirty, 4 crunchy towels, 2 forks, ran out of toilet paper. Supplied one trash bag. Firewood was left thrown on deck the farthest from our door.
Bed was a rock. Box spring was broke and we went and bought a egg crate mattress to help, couch sagged so bad that it hurt our backs.

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the lake cabin. We absolutely loved it! If your looking for a glamorous stay, this is not the place for you. It's authentic and rustic and fit our needs perfectly. We enjoyed sitting on the porch swing looking out at the water. We enjoyed visits from the owners 2 dogs. They had a charcoal grill and we grilled both nights. We also enjoyed our fire pit. We are already planning another weekend stay in the fall.

Jim and Katy are wonderful hosts! Katy's country style breakfasts are devine. Everything from her stuffed French toast to her sausage and potato cast iron breakfast are mouth wateringly delicious. Jim checks in daily to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Jim's cabin designs respect the rustic integrity of the original cabins while incorporating the modern conveniences of indoor plumbing and electricity. The location allows you to reconnect with nature and escape the pressure of our fast paced modern lifestyles. This is the perfect location to relax and rejuvenate.

I would love to report how the Olde Squat Inn is, but since they would not accept my reservation I can't. After sending a DETAILED email to the address listed in their website, I received a response that there was a cabin available and I should call! My family was so excited!
When I called, however, Jim quoted a price $75 MORE PER ADULT than the website lists for a minimum of 3 nights. (For our party of 8 adults, 3 children, this would add $2,000+!)
Wow! Could this gouging have anything to do with the solar eclipse happening that day? Or is the website really that wrong?
If I could give
