Laura Thomas, Ph. D
D., an experienced and compassionate psychologist in Thousand Oaks, CA. Here, you will find helpful information about the psychotherapy and counseling services that I offer individuals, couples, and families in Thousand Oaks and the Conejo Valley. Although family and friends may be supportive and desire to be helpful, they may be limited in their ability to be objective. I am a licensed psychologist in California. I received my doctorate from Michigan State University in 1985. I then moved to California to acquire experience and sit for the State Exams in Clinical Psychology. It is a misconception that chronic illness only requires physical medical treatment, as the longtime wear of these diseases can lead to exhaustion, anger, and depression.Chronically ill individuals often benefit from speaking to a trained psychologist about healthy coping skills. For a compassionate chronic illness psychologist in Thousand Oaks, CA, please call Laura Thomas, Ph.

Dr. Thomas' vast knowledge, intelligence and professional approach in working with me through severe and on-going depression and anxiety has done me more good than any "pill" I ever took for my mental condition. Furthermore, Dr. Thomas helped me with guidance on how to "look outside the box" in situations that had stressed me beyond my capability to address and deal with. Thanks to her, I really feel mentally free instead of trying to bury stuff that you really can't bury. In the past years I tried the pills, previous therapists, etc., only ending up getting nowhere fast. Finally though, my ability

I worked with Dr. Laura after my divorce on 2009, when I was literally at rock bottom. Because she uses such a great solutions based style, rather then keeping you hooked on therapy and thinking there is something wrong with you. I highly recommend her to anyone. She’s a true miracle worker. You have to be willing to follow her guidance and put in the work...

I am not discounting the experience of Ella, but had such a drastically different experience with Laura that I felt compelled to share. I met with Laura for several sessions in 2017 and found her to be kind, compassionate, CALM, and insightful. She was very supportive in helping me recognize some of the healthy coping tools I already possess, and allowed flexibility in continuing or postponing our scheduled sessions as I saw fit. She is also well versed in the benefits of mindfulness and meditation which resonated with me.

Dr. Thomas has been absolutely wonderful for myself individually and for couples therapy with my boyfriend. I've been in therapy for most of my life and know when someone has true insight. Dr. Thomas approaches her patients with kindness and truth. I'm very glad I found her.
