I feel like a new person after both hips were replaced by Dr. Winchell. Dr. Winchell is an excellent orthopedist, as well as a swell person. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who needs them. His office staff, x-ray technician, nurse and assistant (Chad) are always pleasant, efficient and helpful.

I am 61 and have a family history of osteoarthritis which I inherited. After my bi-lateral knee replacement, I was surprised that I felt as good as I did within a short period of time. I don't find that I'm limited in doing anything that I want to do. I can't imagine trusting anyone to do my surgery other than Dr. Winchell.

I was referred by the VA and he said he did not see anything with his X-ray so he sent me for a scan and the he said I did not need a hip replacement. So he referred me to Optim orthopedics. The look at my x-ray and told me the only way to fix my hip is to replace it. So I will be filing a complaint wit the VA. Worst time ever.

Horrible customer service!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! They do not answer the phone nor call back. Over 15 calls over the past 2 days, at all times of the day, and still no answer or call back. If I could give 0 stars I would. If you can go somewhere else you definitely should because they are HORRIBLE! The wait time is also ridiculous. It took over a hour from my scheduled appointment time to be seen and then was rushed by the doctor after waiting so long. Overall was there around 3 hours. Completely unprofessional, careless, and rude.

I am a new patient. Dr. Winchell appears OK. However, his support staff sucks. His assistants are rather unprofessional. They are rather impolite and I have not seen them with a smile on their face. My prescription was not called in. Went to my pharmacy 30 minutes away from where I live and no prescription. I called the office and left two separate voicemails. No call back.
Before writing this message I called the office manager and asked to speak to Dr. Winchell specifically stating I had a complaint.
They did not put me through, and to date, Dr. Winchell has not called me back.

I hesitated for many months before writing this review. I complained to the Physician about the fact that the staff did not call back even when one was in PAIN less more when it was "just" a question to be asked, It took 5 days for an Rx to reach the Pharmacy(this was said to be the Pharmacy's fault though I had not had this problem with them before). I have also had to tell young 30 something people to address me by my last name or by Ms & my first name. It is insulting to have young people disrespect a 72 year old, quite well educated retired teacher by calling her by her first name. I realize

Dr. Winchell took the time and effort to diagnose my knee pain when the other doctor at the larger Ortho group couldn't/wouldn't.
He was also conservative with treatment for my son's knee injury -unlike that other group who wanted to go straight to surgery. Thank goodness too because with therapy my son's knee is just fine.

My experience with Dr. Winchell and his staff was excellent: Waiting times at my appointments were reasonable, surgery was set in a timely manner and they responded quickly when I had a fall and was a bit panicked about it. AND there is a therapy dog! Orthopedic surgery is not fun. This is a small clinic with one doctor that worked efficiently to get my situation handeled.

Well I just want to say that my experience with this office was not very good ...I broke my tibial and fibula back in may was only supposed to be 3 to 4 months then back on my feet ...but it turned into 8 months but the pain never went away or the bad swelling I kept saying something isn't right ...he did all kinds of text and x-ray but nothing so he sent me to optiom orthopedic with in 10 minutes they said your metal plates are broken in half. .so no not a very good place and also the staff likes to take lunch when they want not by their policy. ...went ther a few Times to get medicine was on

Surgery left me with permanant nerve damage for life and after care treatment was horrible id never go back to Mark Winchell savannah bone n joint. My life hasnt been the same since. Go in for hip replacement come out with foot drop and horrible pain for rest of my life but most of all that hurt was DrWinchell acted as if he didnt care one bit about the conditions he left me in.
