Services
Our check up appointments encompass more than "just a cleaning." We view each check up as an opportunity to educate your family and provide your child the tools to remain cavity free. Although check up appointments are a critical component of your child's dental care, we know that your child's home care program and habits will more likely influence his or her ability to stay cavity-free.
Hillsboro Pediatric Dentistry is located in the Belmont/Hillsboro neighborhood in Nashville, TN and in ZIP Code 37212. Our address is 2016 Beechwood Avenue, which is on the corner of 21st Avenue and Beechwood Avenue, between the Green Hills Mall and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Merge onto I-40 West toward Nashville.
Pediatric dentist Dr. Mirna Caldwell says "Some children by age 3 have 7 or 8 cavities and we have to take to Vanderbilt hospital and put to sleep in the O.R. because there is so much to do and that child hasn't even had those teeth in their mouth for two years." Imagine taking your two-year-old to the dentist and being told she has one, two, even 4 or more cavities.
Together, we can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive. Your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist is a fun place where their teeth get tickled and made shiny. Before your child's first visit to the dentist, it is best if you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as "needle", "shot", "pull", "drill" or "hurt".
A pediatric dentist has at least two additional years of training beyond dental school. The additional training focuses on management and treatment of a child's developing teeth, child behavior, physical growth and development, and the special needs of children's dentistry.
Although either type of dentist is capable of addressing your child's oral health care needs, a pediatric dentist, his or her staff, and even the office decor are all geared to care for children and to put them at ease. There are no hard-and-fast rules for when to start dental X-rays.

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Mirna and the staff at Hillsboro Pediatric Dentistry! Audrey in reception made scheduling a breeze and was very kind and helpful from the start. Once we got there for our appointment, I was really impressed with the office building itself. I'm so glad they have great parking given the location. And the building is a converted house which is really disarming for those who might be intimidated by a clinical environment. Inside is so clean and inviting with all kinds of cute and thoughtful touches to not only make a child feel comfortable, but even excited to

I'm so thankful for Dr. Mirna and her incredible team. The office is beautifully designed and makes for a very warm, comfortable environment. My girls have had only positive experiences here, setting them up for continued positive associations with going to the dentist and making oral health a priority.

We love Hillsboro Pediatric Dentist!!!
Dr. Caldwell and her staff always take such a good care of our children. They treat us as family and they genuinely care about their patients. From the moment we arrive to the moment we leave, we feel welcomed and treated very professionally.
I highly recommend them!

Took my son (almost 4 years old) for his second visit here this morning. This place is amazing. The lobby has a fish tank, a wooden train set, kids tv shows, and a coffee station for adults. When kids are called back, they get to enter through a tiny door of their own (right next to the full-size door). Patients have their dental cleanings in the… same room as other kids, with tvs on the ceiling playing PBS programs and monkey stuffed animals hanging above each station. Small patients, like my tot, can sit on their parent's lap or alone with the parent sitting in a nearby rolling chair.
