Sometimes life throws us unexpected curve balls that are difficult to manage. Other times, we may find ourselves struggling to manage day to day life even without any major life changes. Therapy can be an important tool for helping us manage both unexpected events as well as the stresses of daily life.
I provide research-based psychotherapy to adults (18+) who are struggling with a wide variety of challenges. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and mild alcohol and cannabis use disorders (see "Services Provided" for more details). I typically conduct individual therapy sessions, however, am open to occasionally bringing in a significant other or close friend as needed to support treatment.

Services
I received both doctoral Ph. D.) and masters (M.S.) degrees in Clinical Psychology from the APA-Accredited graduate training program from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. I completed an APA-Accredited internship training year at the Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates, IL, as well as a year of post-graduate training at Cornerstone Counseling Services in Brookfield, WI.
I understand that this list is very general. When you contact me initially, we will discuss the issues that bring you into treatment to ensure that they fall within the scope of issues I am trained in and have experience treating successfully. As such, I do not treat individuals who are struggling with chronic suicidal thoughts or behaviors in my private practice.
I am in network with Blue Care Network (BCN) and Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBS), however, I am not a contract provider for Blue Cross Complete products. I also will work with individuals who want to pay out of pocket. Self-pay rates can be provided upon request. I do not bill insurances as an out-of-network provider.
My office is located just north of downtown Saline, on the second floor of the Ann Arbor Music Center building. Please use the entrance for the insurance company and proceed up the stairs to the second floor. You will find the sign for Solutions Psychological Services, LLC with my name, Karen Bowersox, Ph.
