Everyone has issues at different times in their life, which keeps you from feeling complete or happy. Unfortunately, many people think that asking for help or reaching out to talk to a professional is a sign of weakness and can be looked down upon in some families. The reality is nothing could be further from the truth.
It is normal for relationships to suffer as the pressure and strains of everyday life mount. Love may disappear, replaced by resentment and anger. Each partner can view this differently depending on their own experience of family life. One may despair, while the other may view it as a temporary blip.
It's not surprising, given the established relationship between depression and anxiety. When it comes to social anxiety disorder (SAD) in particular, feelings of anxiety and worry about being around others can eventually translate into feeling down in general. To get a better handle on how these disorders relate, it helps to learn a bit about the relationship between the two.
Everyone double checks things sometimes. For example, you might double check to make sure the stove or iron is turned off before leaving the house. But people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or (OCD) feel the need to check things repeatedly, or have certain thoughts or perform routines and rituals over and over.
