PBG is following Philadelphia guidelines regarding safety measures. All entering students, parents and coaches wear a mask, use hand sanitizer and maintain social distancing in class and while seated. Families are asked to limit the number of family members accompanying students to one when practical.
Equipment is sanitized on a regular basis. Philadelphia is requiring masks to be worn in setting such as ours. Since most of our students are too young to be vaccinated yet, we require mask wearing whenever possible in our facility, and ask parents to do the same and be sure their child has a mask when coming in for class.

Services
Philadelphia Boys' Gymnastics began as Temple University Boys' Gymnastics Team (TUBGT) in the fall of 2003 when two nearby boys' team programs were terminated and the gym at Temple became available for evening activity. That first year was also the start of the Temple Boys' Invitational, which later became the Philadelphia Boys' Invitational.
We aim to promote the sport of gymnastics by offering life-changing opportunities for area youth so that they can realize their individual potential by developing in a safe, professional and challenge-seeking environment. Philadelphia Boys' Gymnastics is the only high-level boys' gymnastics club in Philadelphia and it is one of the only gyms dedicated to boys specifically in the country.
During his 41 years as the head coach of the Temple Owls Men's Gymnastics Team, Fred Turoff produced 18 EIGL/ECAC title teams, 94 individual conference champions and 5 NCAA event champions. He retired as head coach after the 2017 season, and now serves as assistant to his former pupil, Jesse Kitzen-Abelson, who took over the head coach position in 2017-18.
Walt graduated from Temple U in 1982. In his senior year he was 2nd all-around in the EIGL. Walt has much experience, having coached at both John Pancott Gymnastics Center and Upper Merion Dance and Gymnastics Center prior to joining PBG. He'll work mainly with levels 4, 6-8. Tom is a graduate of Univ of PA, earning his Master's in bioethics.
You can arrange for your child to take part in a free trial lesson. Our coaches will determine the training level appropriate for your child based on his capabilities and age. Dress is a T-shirt and athletic shorts or a warmup. Socks or bare feet are the norm. Levels 1-2: Introductory and pre-team, ages 5-10 years old.

This is an excellent program that introduces boys to the sport of Gymnastics. The program is overseen by one time U.S. Olympian Fred Turoff assisted by coaches from Temple University Athletics. It is a very professional program that will teach your son strength, discipline, balance, and conditioning. Also a great way to keep them engaged and off of the streets. I highly recommend them.

Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, Value
Nothing bad to say. We love this place and our son wants to continue gymnastics here. Lachesis are wonderful communication with parents and teaching the kids. Love that they are flexible about classes and offer lots of availability. Owner is awesome and you can always speak to him about anything.

We had a beautiful experience with PBG! We joined in July of 2019, and went strong up until the pandemic shut everything down. When this virus fades away we will re-enroll again. The coaches are well trained and have patience with the kids. I highly recommend PBG to any parent with boys or you toddler girls, that are rolling, and tumbling constantly around the house. At least let them learn how to tumble safely.

PBG is a great place for boys who are interested and want to pursue boys gymnastics which is very different from girls gymnastics. The coaches are supportive and experienced and the parent association is strong. All levels of skill are accepted and scholarships are available. The space is pretty raw but has all the necessary equipment and safety features needed for teaching gymnastics.
