Founded by Kathleen Stinehart, former dean for academic outreach at nearby Mary Baldwin College, Cranberry's goal is to bring you organic, natural, healthful and delicious foods. Kathleen and her husband, Alan, retired in 2015 and sold Cranberry's to Joseph White, a hiking guide and former sportswriter for The Associated Press.
We are all about taste (hooray!) and nutrition (whoopee!). Our menu is fashioned around fruits, vegetables and organic grains - simple but powerful foods that will have you leaping tall buildings in a single bound. We eliminated trans fats and high fructose corn syrup from our cafe and grocery several years ago, and we can prepare certified gluten-free and vegan entrees as requested.

Services
Our famous and unique blends are roasted in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley town of Staunton, Virginia, just a few blocks from our flagship partner, Cranberry's Grocery & Eatery. The roasts were created by longtime Cranberry's manager Lester Bowers, and are now under the tender loving care of master roaster Beau LaFon.
We field a juice bar, smoothies bar & espresso bar as well as breakfast (served until 1:30) - plus wraps, sandwiches, salads, soups, quiche and more. To keep prices down, we use combinations of natural, organic and conventional ingredients. However, nothing in our cafe contains neither trans fats nor high fructose corn syrup.
You can also reserve our upstairs meeting room for your function and have us cater your group right here on our premises. Our room seats 36 people at tables with chairs. A container of 8 cups of our signature Staunton Coffee; organic, fair-trade, locally roasted coffee. With cream, sugar and stir sticks.
We have carefully chosen homeopathic remedies, herbal remedies, vitamins, and supplements to meet the needs of health and welleness for all age groups. Besides that, we carry a number of herbs in bulk form. Because natural remedies and alternative medicine have been rising in topic, we have seen many customers express interest in learning on their own and practicing their own herbal remedies at home.
Our Apothecary sells carefully chosen homeopathics, herbal remedies, vitamins, and supplements. We also carry a number of herbs in bulk form, plus books on herbalism and natural healing. And we have an experienced staff to assist you. Came here because they advertise all these healthy things. Worst breakfast for a place who claims "natural". Bacon cured with additives, toast was dried out and hard, egg was greasy and hashbrown casserole had so much grease it was dripping. Price was ridiculous and we have no problem paying for something good. And worse... the boy who brought us our food was scratching his face and running his hands on his hair. Never again.

I haven't been here for a few months. I used to eat here about twice a month. The food was probably B+ However I was turned off by their consistent disregard for cleaning their tables between customer use dispite being reminded several times.I will try them again and see if the Covid Virus has helped them to be more careful.

We had an incredible breakfast at Cranberry's. The waffle was light and fluffy, the salad was fresh and flavorful and the quiche was absolutely delicious- one of the best I've ever had. Given the small staff I expected a wait, but service was quick and efficient. All the times I've been coming to staunton I didn't realize how much I've missed out on their breakfasts!

The food is delicious. The shop is nicely set up and staff are friendly. While most products are backed by research and are really tasty, this shop/restaurant does not shy away from using health buzz words like "superfood" which do not mean much from a nutritional/dietary standpoint. That said if you are looking for something tasty or have dietary restrictions such as ciliac, vegan or gluten free, this place has lots of high quality options.

My family and I were traveling and stayed the night in Stauton, VA. We were happy to find this grocery and eatery for a healthy breakfast! It is located in a quaint downtown area. We ordered the breakfast burrito and they were happy to make it vegan for us. The staff was friendly and wearing masks and gloves.

I love Cranberry’s! My partner and I came here for breakfast during a visit to Staunton. I had a breakfast quiche and he had a gluten-free wrap.
The atmosphere is great! Cozy and warm. This is a rehabbed historical storefront with lots of character.
They have a huge selection of supplements—good stuff! Good brands, and also lots of gift items. It’s a great place to hang out and have a quick bite. Health-conscious, great espresso drinks—I recommend the Americano—and the service was wonderful.

I moved here from Dallas/Fort Worth a few months ago and when my mom came to visit last month, I couldn’t think of a better place for a light breakfast than Cranberry’s! It’s a cozy, cute and historic feeling cafe with a cool little grocery full of local goods! You won’t be disappointed when you stop in!

This place was soooo fun! Not only were the mimosas amazing but the reading corner on the stairs is the best place to unwind and have brunch. I had the quiche and hashbrown casserole and it literally is to die for!!! The quiche was so fluffy and it paired perfectly with the rest of my breakfast. We came here to order food but we notice this awesome apothecary is part of the establishment...Me being the holistic honey that I am I lost my mind with all the crystals and natural remedies and homegrown foods! Such a beautiful little spot in town. I wish I could buy it and keep it just the way it is

This was one of the very few places open after 4pm on a Saturday in Staunton. It's a convenient coffee shop/health foods store. They had herbal supplements and healthy snacks as well as quick bites like freshly made muffins and bagels. The blueberry muffin I had was infused with a multitude of blueberries and it was super moist. The best blueberry muffin I believe I've ever had! I would recommend them for their food and convenient hours of operation!

Thank you so very much for getting the rubber ramp out for my mom who is in a wheelchair. I sincerely apologize for the harsh review that I left before, I was way too quick to judge and I appreciate the incredibly helpful response I received.
The service was absolutely fantastic. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly and generous. It's clean, roomy, and 100% wheelchair accessible on the inside. The atmosphere is like a coffee shop mixed with your grandmas house (in a good way of course).
The food was excellent. It tasted yummy, sweet, and most importantly-- real! I had the quiche

What an amazing fine. Great products. Enjoy local wines, honeys, jams and more. There is also a great health menu with vegan options. They also have fresh sambuca. There is a vast selection of local products. Great for gifts too. There is a pay parking garage right at the corner and a lot across the street.

This is my kinda small town place. We visited Staunton for a night and ended up having breakfast here. It's half Whole Foods-esque natural foods store and half restaurant. There's also plenty of grocers for some quick and easy meals
I got the breakfast burrito and added bacon and green chili salsa. It was great and very filling, but I wish it had more cheese. They have all organic, high quality coffee both for enjoying there and to take home, which made for a great pairing.
Love supporting local spots and hope to be back!

Visited on Memorial Day, was not going to be our first choice but it was the only place opened downtown. The menu was good, I stuck with a simple bacon, eggs, and toast. I know, a Holiday weekend somehow made me unadventurous. The counter staff were all friendly. The place seemed lively with regulars and tourists alike.
The meal was good, but again the order simple.
While I was not overwhelmed, the staff and atmosphere were nice, the food good and quick.

She got the roasted veggie wrap and I got the Thai chicken wrap. Both were dry and had too much rice. Who wants rice in a wrap? The veggie components were certainly not roasted as advertised, and the included sauces were lacking significantly. I needed half the bottle of sriracha to help boost the flavor/taste/moisture. And For $9+ a wrap... really not worth it.

What an awesome find in downtown! A healthy themed grocery and eatery!
We easily found it from Yelp and ordered at the counter. I chose a Thai Wrap with pulled chicken, brown rice, cucumber and zucchini with a peanut sauce with a side of fresh fruit. The wrap was a big dry and the peanut was overpowering but it was out quickly and well-made. I just didn't care for all the flavors.
My mom and her fiancée split a cubano sandwich and loved it - a few meats on sourdough bread toasted with pickles and mustard with house chips.
They have juices and smoothies and all-day breakfast items

Stopped in for a light drink and snack on a Sunday. Marnie tried their Celtic juice mix which she found a bit nasty, but I liked the lemon and rosemary spritzer. The blueberry scone was heavy on the blueberries and a lot more like cake, all of which are good things. And the bagel I got was rather tiny, and probably came out of the freezer, but it was good anyhow.
Still, if you sit inside, you are surrounded by herbal and homeopathic hoaxes on all sides.

Cranberry's has everything you could desire. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable; the food is local, healthy, and delicious; and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend the Melting Pot Scramble with a cafe latte.

What a great find! Cranberry's is an amazing store and an even more amazing cafe! The food is fresh, wholesome, and perfectly prepared. Every item on the breakfast menu sounded mouth-watering. My bowl of oatmeal was full of walnuts, dried currents, figs, and apricots, as well as banana slices, raspberries and blackberries. Incredible! Great as is or you can pour the most amazing syrup on top for an extra special treat. And when you're done eating and shopping take a few minutes to explore downtown Staunton. And then go back to Cranberry's for lunch.
