The name Dick Church's hit the sign in 1972, but the site has been a restaurant since 1947. First a burger joint, then a coffee shop until Dick made it into a full diner. The location is one of the longest continually opened restaurants in Orange County. We pride ourselves on good quality food, excellent service and a throwback to a warm old school vibe.
We're a comfortable place to hang with friends. Come as you are, all are welcome. Surfers, Skaters, College Professors, Plumbers, Punkers, Professionals and People who are retired all dine together in vintage orange booths. The super friendly staff will greet you immediately. Nice portions and a comprehensive selection of fresh made breakfast and lunch items abound.

Huge surprise, new hip bar run by mixologist extraordinaire Matty, has seriously amazing drinks. I hit happy hour Tuesday thru Sat 3-5, had an amazing $8 Chuck and brisket burger that would be twice that anywhere, a great IPA, and a $5 Ceasar salad with lemon zest that's as good as any top tier restaurant in OC!!! Matty is a great conversationalist with a very impressive resume! Who knew?

Very cute restaurant! The decor makes you feel like your in a old 50s diner. Even thought we came on a busy Saturday morning the staff was still very attentive and great! We ordered the corned beef hash and the chicken fried steak. Both were great options, the food could have been seasoned better but overall the quality was excellent. The corned beef hash was the best corned beef hash I have ever had, the meat itself was very flavorful!

Jonesing for diner food, we found this place really charming. It's in your face 70s decor and counter space complimented its old school diner menu.
The chicken tortilla soup had plenty of real chicken and avocado and the Cobb salad didn't skimp!
Good service! My friend ordered eggs Benedict and the eggs came our hard poached. After flagging down a waitress, the situation was quickly resolved and her eggs were replaced.
Would go again!

My family and I enjoy breaking bread here. This is absolutely one of our favorite places to eat. The BBQ bacon burger is mouthwatering, eggs Benedict is everything with the perfect side of bacon and hash browns extra crispy ~ yummmm. The service is top notch Thank you Meredith for all the warm welcomes, we appreciate you!!

We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. There were lots of people but they also have plenty of seating so there was no wait. The service was delightfully warm and friendly... great coffee and they gave us to go cups with a fresh refill for free. They're open for dinner service and their chef came from a 2 Michelin star restaurant so we'll be back to try dinner soon.

I was so bummed when I went to Dicks this past weekend! Been living in Costa Mesa for years and finally went over this past weekend... I'm nice by giving them 2 stars.
The pancakes were dry, impossible to cut. The chicken steak was cold, the hollandaise was acidic, potatoes (both country and hash browns) tasted old and we never got the toast.
The eggs were fresh, tho! And the waitress was nice but over worked, didn't have time to check on us once.
I am not sure if I'd give it another try...

Came for a late brunch on Saturday with some friends. We live close by and have been looking forward to eating on the patio, since it looked so fun every time we drove by. We were seated outside and I will say that the latching directly along a busy road and close to the highway doesn't make for the most soothing environment but it wasn't so loud it was unbearable. The staff were very friendly. Service was slightly slow but we were not in a hurry so we were happy! I ordered a Caribbean cold brew which is their coffee cocktail and it was surprisingly really tasty. I've never had something

My bother and I came in for drinks and dinner and were blown away by the quality!
Drinks were very reasonably priced and strong. I had a Mai Tai and my brother had a Sazerac. Both were good and we'd get them again.
The food was phenomenal! We had the corned beef Ruben and the Pot Roast. Elegant comfort food would be the way I'd describe it. Couldn't have chosen a better way to spend our Friday night.

Great retro beach side spot for Breakfast & Brunch and now dinner
We found this locals hot spot on Yelp, so looking and sounding good we dived in
Plenty of parking spots in the rear car park attached to the restaurant but its busy so first come first served there is nearby street parking also available
It has had numerous owners since opening its doors in 1947 with latest owners taking possession in 2017, recently renovated ( could still smell a little fresh paint when heading to the bathrooms) but has held authentic the 1970's beachside casual diner vibe that has made it a favourite

Good breakfast diner food. I recommend the eggs Benedict. The chicken fried steak was also good. Nicely seared corned beef hash. Unfortunately the pancakes are rubbery, which means the batter was over mixed. Excellent French toast. The lumberjack breakfast is not on the menu but comes with extra meat, eggs, potatoes, and pancakes. The omelette is good but you should ask for it soft because they really overcook it.
