A vital part of a successful mosquito abatement program is public awareness. Several times a day Mosquito Abatement Courier Team members have conversations with San Francisco residents explaining what they are doing and why. In those brief conversations we are able to educate residents about this proactive program as well as about where mosquitoes can breed and how we can prevent them.

Wastewater Enterprise is doing its part to Fight the Bite in San Francisco by proactively monitoring and treating the combined storm sewer system. The State of CA's Fight the Bite Campaign urges California residents to report any mosquito activity as well as dead birds to their local vector control program.
Services
Pestec's pest control services are 100% certified as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) by EcoWise and Green Shield. Pestec is the first pest control company to receive the California Department of Pesticide Regulation IPM Innovator Award. Pestec is an early adopter of new pest control technologies and practices, leads the industry in Integrated Pest Management.
When she and her husband moved into an upscale apartment in an "emerging" neighborhood near Civic Center, Katie Beckheyer may have had some concerns about crime, gritty streets and panhandlers. But she never expected what would be the. San Francisco's Mosquito Abatement Courier team-otherwise known as MAC-is not your typical bike gang.
Pests can pose a risk to human health and the types of diseases they spread can vary. Pests that are common disease vectors are rats, mice, fleas, and mosquitoes. Diseases directly transmitted by rodents include, but are not limited to hantavirus, leptospirosis, plague, rat bite fever, and salmonellosis.
Thinking of changing careers? Are you unsure of which direction to go? Now is the time to invest in yourself. Come work where you are more than a number and where opportunity awaits. We are always looking for great people to join our team. The pest control industry is on track to be a $9 billion-dollar industry.
Many public institutions, including local governments and state departments, have required the use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to protect our communities and our environment. Some of which are Contra Costa County, City and County of San Francisco, Santa Clara County and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.

Unlike two pest control quotes we got from two other companies, Pestec:

·       Is experienced in working with rodents, ants, cockroaches, and yellow jackets and more.

·       Certified by EcoWiseCertified.com and GreenShieldCertified.com to prevent pests and use less-toxic and more humane techniques. They use snap-traps instead of inhumane glue traps for rodents.

· Lists their Structural Pest Control Board of California (https://pestboard.ca.gov/license.shtml) license number on their website, meaning they had to pass exams to prove they know what they're doing.

Dealt with Mari, at my work, and couldn't ask for a more kind, hard working, knowledgable proffessional. Thank you so much Mari!

DO NOT HIRE PESTEC IF YOU HAVE RODENTS. Their warranty is less than industry standard (only 3 months vs. 1 year). They are overpriced and ineffective. You can do better.

A technician came out to visit our house. He tried to upsell me on hiring a gardener (his brother) for the neighboring house because there was overgrowth, and told me that unless that was fixed, he couldn't solve the problem. He set traps for rats (we didn't find any) and mice (we didn't catch any). We did better baiting and setting our own traps. The consultation was billed as an initial visit (whereas other gave

Pestec treated my apartment for bedbugs a week ago and I haven't seen a live insect since then. Pestec's employees are environmentally conscious and use pesticides sparingly. They idenfitied the source of the infestation, treated the infested area with cedar oil, used a small dose of pesticide, and recommended taking practical steps like encasing my mattress. The only thing they could have done better is to tell me that it requires two people to encase a mattress.

We've had two horrible pest experiences. The first time, we called Orkin, and they basically did nothing, plus the service was expensive and totally impersonal. The second time we called Pestec, and they were amazing. We had a perplexing situation that took a couple of visits to figure out and by the third time the CEO Luis showed up and was determined to find the problem. He ultimately visited us three times and the team (Valentine was also great) worked very hard -- including moving a 25 foot ladder around the entire perimeter of the roof to find and close all holes and busting out a wall

Pestec seems to have solved our rodent problem. They provided a quote and stood by it. We have a six month guarantee and I expect if we needed them back they would come with no questions asked. I shopped around for rodent abatement companies and Pestec was the most direct about pricing and what their scope of work would include. Thanks!

Here's a quick follow up. I did a lot of reading regarding mites and other biting insects that may have the same symptoms I was experiencing. I did a simple thing - I stopped opening the window in my bedroom and I stopped getting bitten at night. I haven't had the problem since. Whatever was causing the tiny bug bites went away.

Luis tried to help out with the problem and am thankful he dropped by but there was nothing he could do in my case.

I just wanted to warn everyone before hiring this company. The technician who came over clearly was not knowledgable in pest control. Nothing was suggested except baits and on top of that $600+ was quoted to ONLY place the baits and take the pests out, should they get trapped.
I thought they were poorly equipped with knowledge as to how to deal with various issues and only wanted to charge us. I am glad I did not go with this company. I can place baits on my own, but I called the professionals for an inspection and they did not deliver. Since then, I found another company that was leaps and bounds

I can't thank Colin enough for his incredible support. We brought samples down to see if they could identify the bugs we had under a microscope. So many of the pest control companies will tell you what you want to hear just get your money. Colin was up front and wouldn't take a dime for the research and consultation.

I just wanted to say thank you to your hardworking crew for always being so on top of it at our property. I've only had nothing but positive experiences with Pestec. In an industry that gets inundated with complaints, I hope this sheds some light on the great staff that you have working for you (which I'm sure you are already aware of).

Patrick is so informative and is always to be counted on. He's even managed to squeeze us in several times in his busy schedule. He's great with our residents and is able to get information about pest management across to multiple languages

I was blown away by Pestec's expertise and general awesomeness. It's an upsetting ordeal to have to deal with, but thanks to their advice I was able to identify and remove the bugs before it became a big problem. All gone! Gabriel really knows her stuff and the women at the office are very helpful and kind.

I only write reviews when I feel really compelled to do so.
These people are great.

I recently discovered some small bugs in a kitchen drawer. After reading several very positive comments about Pestec on Yelp, I called the company. The very friendly staff person who answered the phone offered to have one of their technicians try to identify the type of pest. She said they would do this for free if I could bring in a sample .
I put a sample bug in a ziplock bag and brought it to their office.

Two of the Pestec technicians immediately identify the pest as a harmless type and gave simple specific easy suggestions on the best way to eradicate.

I followed their advice and the
