Am I still a bit shocked that one of the best Indian restaurants we've had in a while is in Salem, the land of American and Italian cuisine? Yes. Am I glad we had the opportunity to try it? Absolutely!
I can't tell you HOW much this restaurant hit the spot. We couldn't down another overly-salted or overly fat-filled dish filled with cream or cheese. We were doing a little road trip around the New England area, and this place was actually recommended by our Salem walking tour guide. Thanks, April!
Take it from someone who resides in an area spoiled with good food (Los Angeles)

Had been to better Indian places. I usually expect spices to slap me in the face but the flavors here was just ok and I'm suuuuper weak when it comes to spicy foods. Portions were also kinda small just because I'm used to not being able to finish everything at an Indian restaurant. The garlic naan was good!

This is a delightful place, full of locals and visitors alike. . The food was so good that we came back the next night to eat all of the things we didn't eat the first night. Night one..Lamb Korma, perfectly tender and rich sauce. Shrimp Tandori....huge shrimp, cooked just right. I could have ordered 2 more. Both the meat and potato samosas were snapped up before I could get a photo...but they were crunchy, spicy and heavenly. We cannot come to a consensus on which was better. Biriyani was well done and really good...but the sauces steal the show here. The bread basket is a must. They hooked

So this is the only Indian restaurant in the whole locality and to my surprise they are an 18 years old restaurant. What we got to know is they have a strong customer base who are all local people and they avoid the Halloween crowd. Thus the restaurant was empty when we went. I was surprised to see an Indian restaurant in a locality that doesn't have much Indian people to eat the cuisine. So in all probability the dishes are americanized to ease the palette for non-spicy eaters.
We were immediately seated and ordered our food. The restaurant was playing songs from 2000 Bollywood. We had ordered

Well, I ordered several dishes, one was chicken tikki masala, vegetarian palak paneer and another vegetarian spicy dish, vegetable samosas, vegetable pakora and two types of Naan, kashmire and garlic, a variety of sauces, chutneys and mango lassie!
While the choices were tasty, the naan was the highlight for me! The presentations, with the exception of the mango lassie, because of the beautiful color, were generic and not very exciting! The portions were disappointing, but, everyone, requires portion control, sometimes! Will I return, probably at some point.

Have been going here for years. We miss the nights of sitting at the bar and having a drink and all our favorites from the menu while chatting with the guys but takeout during quarantine has been just as delicious. Love all the vegetarian options! The special mango chicken is always a go to as well.

Delicious Indian food for an affordable price. I have tried quite a few items from here but by far my favorite is the lamb and potatoes. Well seasoned, tender, and cooked to perfection. The staff are all very friendly and professional, would definitely suggest checking it out if you are in the area and looking for tasty Indian/Pakistani food.

We ordered naan, veggie samosas, lamb korma and chicken biryani
Naan: was very thick reminded me of pizza dough
Veggie samosas: Were as expected, cooked all the way through not doughy in the middle
Lamb Korma: the lamb was tough and over cooked and the sauce was very oily and unappetizing.
Chicken biryani: The chicken was dry and tough to chew, the rice was undercooked. They had very fresh vegetables throughout which was nice but overall couldn't finish it.
They had a yogurt sauce on the side that was refreshing and the red spicy slaw was the best tasting item.
Overall, didn&apos

Ordered the 'Goa Shrimp curry', which by all accounts was just regular shrimp curry and not the traditional Goan shrimp curry. There were maybe 6-8 tiny shrimp in the sauce and a side of rice, and the dish was $17. While the curry flavor was good, that's a little steep for some curry sauce with a handful of shrimp and no veggies.
