We offer every student the opportunity to perform in both a professional and recreational environment while showcasing the performing arts throughout our community. The success of education depends upon the cooperation between teacher, student, and parent.
As part of a comprehensive ballet education, we do have recommendations on how many classes each student should attend per level. These are not requirements, as we aim to serve and include all students and families, but they are guidelines to help enhance learning and ability. This includes ballet and speciality/acrobatic classes.
From the preschool basics of ABC's and 123's, to learning to make shapes on paper and with our bodies, building individual learning skills and teamwork and tapping into the unique ways we learn, your child will build the foundation for reading and writing, mathematics, science and physics, music, art, and movement!

Abernethy Performing Arts is a fantastic dance studio. Keith Walls and his dance instructors are well-trained and well-versed in dance technique, training, and instruction to a variety of age groups. My daughter has been attending for close to 5 years and has taken ballet, jazz, and musical theater classes. The formal performances are top notch. Parent participation is encouraged and dancers are taught to be mindful of technique and have awareness of the necessity to stretch, practice, eat healthy and fully participate in classes.
I highly recommend APA for beginning or advanced dancers.
