The Palazzone story begins in 1960 when Remo and Giulia Palazzone opened their first pastry shop in Clifton, NJ. They had immediate success thanks to their hard work ethic, their ability to provide authentic quality goods and superb customer service. Their story was like that of many Italian immigrants based on sacrifice, courage, family and passion.

In the early 70's after long hours and dedication to the business, the Palazzone family decided to sell the business and move back to Italy to raise their four children. Giancarlo and his siblings grew up watching their parents building the business and listening to the stories of their days in America.

Their cookies were delightful. That's what I went to get. The girls are super nice too and they really are patient with customers with questions like me! You could definitely see they uphold family tradition, recipes and the pride of their amazing work. I'll be back for some more cookies!

Hands down one of the best Italian cafes around. The cannoli’s are the closet to Italy’s I’ve ever had. Whatever you’re into all of their food/pastries are amazing. The Espresso full (bodied and smooth) also a 5 star -This place does not disappoint!

I ordered a blueberry pie and a chocolate pie from a school fundraiser for Thanksgiving. The chocolate pie was beautiful with a deep crust and pastry leaf cutouts decorating the top. The filling had a nice flavor but the crust was over baked. The blueberry pie on the other hand was just awful. It was sloppy looking, the filling was gummy and had a strong corn starch flavor but the crust was truly the worst I’ve had. It was over baked, dry and tasteless. I usually stay away from bakeries because they rarely use quality ingredients but I thought this bakery was different based on the reviews. Unfortunately

Amazing authentic Italian food! The location isn't the greatest but the pastries and food and espresso drinks here are second to none. I don't remember the name of the guy who served us but he's hilarious!

Born and raised in Venice, Italy. I moved to the USA 15 years ago and I’ve always been disappointed by “Italian Bakeries” here, until I was recommended to visit Palazzone 1960. The moment I walked in I felt like I was being transported back home. If you want to experience a TRUE Italian bakery you must visit, from the ambiance to the sweets to the coffee this place is top notch, especially if you are being helped by Venusia!
Ps make sure you get you pastries in a vassoio.

So far the best Italian pastry shop is all of NJ. Everything I tried was very good. The sfogliatelle was excellent except it lacked citrus peel taste. The other cakes are all good and not too sweet as they should be. The pistachio gelato was good as well. I highly recommend this place.

I'm from Italy and it's hard to find some good pastries, and nobody has "pasticcini" like this in all variety of sizes and flavors. This place is amazing, delicious... There are no words to describe, you must try it!
And not only the sweets, you also have to try the lunch specials! A real pleasure to find this place in NJ.
