Services
My area of expertise is working with adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger, aggression, substance abuse, mood disorders, trauma, and oppositional defiant behaviors. In addition, I work with families who struggle with healthy communication, creating boundaries and conflict.
During the teenage years, young people often have to grapple with a number of events and issues that can have an impact on their mental health. Many aspects of their lives, from social interactions to traumatic events, have an influence on their mental state and can cause them to display certain behaviors.
We all struggle with anxiety from time to time. You may get nervous before a test, or you could find yourself anxious about finances or relationships. While anxiety is a naturally occurring response to stressful situations, some people experience undue levels of anxiety that can hinder their ability to lead a normal life.
Major depressive disorder involves much more than a period of sadness or having hard times in your life. Depression is a serious mental health and medical condition. It deserves medical treatment, as well as mental health care. People with depression should see a licensed psychologist for their depression treatment.
Often the symptoms of a psychological disorder are obvious, such as when a child experiences academic and social problems at school, or an adult struggles to maintain personal and professional relationships due to anger issues, but the cause of the problem is not always clear.

Psychological testing and evaluation consists of a series of tests that help determine the cause of psychological symptoms and disorders, to determine the correct diagnosis and follow up with the appropriate course of treatment. The methods used for the evaluation will depend on your teen's needs.
