Helmer Dance Studio is located in the border town of Hudson, Wisconsin and we serve the surrounding communities including Eastern Minnesota.

The Discover Dance Early Childhood Program is a series of movement classes designed to introduce children to the creative and expressive world of dance. Each program offers children the opportunity to develop their natural movement ability in a multi-sensory environment.

This 30 minute class involves creative movement, fun interactive songs, improving balance and gross motor skills, rhythmic patterning, as well as introducing beginning ballet concepts with proper technique and French terminology. Watch your child's independence and confidence soar, as our DiscoverTOTS explore and discover the benefits of a more structured dance class.
Instructors use imaginative imagery to teach fundamental tap steps in a fun way while reinforcing rhythm, counting and strength. Al Gilbert's graded tap technique curriculum is used to teach and reinforce basic tap skills and terminology. Skills taught will be the foundation for subsequent dance training as dancers move up to higher levels.

Helmer Dance Studio continually exceeds our expectations! Beautiful facility, caring teachers, very organized, excellent communication. Our daughter has danced on the recreation, performance and company lines. All classes provide quality dance instruction in an environment that promotes self-confidence and community. I could not think of a better place to had spent my last ten years of dance. I can not express enough on how professional, dedicated, and truly caring the teachers & staff are. They exceed your expectations. Watching the kids grow with nothing but passion, skills, and teamwork. Your kids will leave the studio learning more then just a couple routines, but life skills as well that will evolve with you throughout the years. Helmer Dance has become my second family and I would recommend this studio to anyone and everyone!

My daughter has danced here for the last 9 years (since she was 3), and I can't think of a better studio to trust with teaching my child the beauty of dance, the techniques of dance, and the importance of working as a team. She has danced in recreational classes, performance lines, and company lines, and she has loved all of it. The teachers and staff are talented, compassionate, and truly want what is best for each individual child. The nurturing and safe environment has allowed my daughter to thrive. Both of our daughters started dancing at Helmer Dance Studio at age two. After nine years, we've been a part of both recreational and competition lines. The studio is very convenient with easy access off I-94 in Hudson. The teachers and staff are amazing - always very approachable and responsive. They love what they do and it really shows! Our daughters look forward to dance, are challenged in a safe environment, and leave dance class smiling. Most importantly, the studio focuses on positive thinking/behaviors and teamwork.

Our daughter started dancing at Helmer Dance Studio in 2008 when she was 5. She was part of the recreational program for a year and has been a company dancer since 2009. I cannot say enough about how professional and well-organized the studio is. The teachers truly care about their dancers, and our daughter loves her routines every year, without exception. As parents, my husband and I enjoy watching our daughter's joy when she dances, and she has learned many valuable life skills at the studio. We highly recommend this dance studio.

I could not think of a better place to send my kids to dance than Helmer Dance Studio. Having been a part of the studio for 15+ years, watching not only the kids grow and change, I've been lucky enough to watch the studio grow and evolve.
