The worthless experience ever I had on the recycling center it was my first and the last time, really bad service, bad instructions and they didn’t respect my coupons

Although the same people are not always present when I recycle the people working are always helpful, speedy and efficient. I have been there several times over the past few months and this has always been the case. I'll be back!

I was so lost where to go on a saturday, literally every place was closed or shut down or just not helpful. I looked all over SD, I was willing to drive. Good thing I took the risk.

They are SO HELPFUL, there hours are the best. Pretty sure no other place has their business hours, they are un-matched.

SO friendly the workers, and they just made it so easy for me.

This place is a joke. They close at 5:30, I pull up at 5:15 and this wack kid employee gives me the sign that they are closed. So I turned around and drove off. If they don't want business then that's what they'll get. What a loser company lol

There is an employee by the name of Sal, he is very much rude. He is the same guy who measures your plastic. If he is in a bad mood he will just take about 10 minutes weighing your plastic or resorting it out. I have been to this place for 10 years and have never been treated this way. One thing is for sure next time I pull up and he is there I’m turning around to find a different place.

The guys here are awesome. Super sweet and never hesitate to lend a hand with the baskets. I won't go anywhere else in East county for my recycling needs.

Started coming here about 8 months ago. The staff are extremely professional and courteous. They have good attitudes and high customer service skills. Some customers that come by can be rude at times but that's okay. Keep up the good work. Thank you for all that you guys do.

Brought 45-50 glass bottles, looked at the receipt and they refused to go by count, said that glass must be weighed.

Re-looking at the law afterwards, we are legally allowed to ask for count if 50 or less pieces. I received $0.80 for what should have been $2.00+

Honestly kind of mindblown at why they would do/behave like this, for a dollar or two. Are they really desperate to make money this way or something? Seems really sad to me people still stoop this low. Attendant looking back at me nervously/suspiciously the whole time.

I called another place, but they didn't pick up. I called American Recycling to verify what time they close. Like, if I call, the assumption is that they're open. They answered the phone and my questions, so they got my business. The location is relatively freeway close by an empty car sales lot.

Plenty of open parking spaces on a Sunday afternoon. One of the helpful attendants wheeled over some bins for us to load up bottles and cans. Mini-me 2.0 likes to watch the conveyer belt and compactor make the crushed cubes. She's anxious to help with sorting & moving recyclables over

They don't allow walk-ins. It would be okay if I were a homeless person on a bike, but I can't walk in from my nearby apartment? Bogus. For what reason exactly? Makes zero sense. Going to Soring Valley from now on

Actually, these guys are great! They're always eager to help you thru the process, quick and efficiently. Remember to tip them generously, they're working hard for you!

The staff here is very friendly. Everyone here is always on the move so there is not really a wait time on getting your cash for the cans. Place has a lot of parking space. They'll pay good money for your cans.

Two visits thus far. Plenty of parking. Grab your containers near the cashier. Roll them to your car. Separate aluminum, plastic and glass. Roll your items back up front. Wait. Longest wait time so far-13 minutes. Cash out!

Both times someone was sweeping debris around vehicles in constant motion. BUT, wear proper attire for your safety:closed toe shoes, gloves and a mask.

I got there late. They close at 5:30.. I thought they closed at 6:00 I got there at 5:45. Seeing how mad at myself I was, Enrique the manager was able to let me weigh in despite the fact they were all ready closed. My car was full, with barely enough room for my dog. Way to see a problem, and take it upon yourself to help a fellow human out! Robert E.

I had at least 2 trash bags full of plastic bottles, 20 aluminum cans and couple of glass bottles. Only to receive back a little over a dollar. Amount of recyclables weighed are way off. They'll steal your money. I'll be going to a different recycling center next time.

Deco not open so we Goggled it and found this place

The guys here are friendly and patient. They took the time to explain to me which plastics and bottles I receive a different pay for and why. There seen to be several customers there each time I come but they always have enough barrels to accommodate the customers no matter how many. The line may get long, maybe 5,6 or 7 people but it goes quickly due to the efficiency and organization of the workers. I lIve in Spring Valley and I bypass several recycling places to drive all the way to El Cajon just for the service.

Just a heads up to everyone. I have been going here for 14 years with no issues. The past few times I’ve been here have been after the original owner retired and I have been so disappointed and I feel cheated. I brought in over 30lbs of recycling and I only got $11.00 for the whole thing. I usually get over 20-25 for an amount that big. I did the math vs the weight I had and I should’ve gotten WAY more than that. Please be aware that these people are ripping you off and set the weight back by half please find somewhere else to go. As for me I will not be returning. It’s wrong

American Recycling is still my go-to for getting rid of cans and plastic. They still have coupons on-line for aluminum, plastic and glass. The place gets busy, but the staff always works very quickly. I've never had to wait in line for more than a few minutes. The bearded dude handing out money is a cool ol' dude.
They have instituted a new policy that if you go you must be in a vehicle. I appreciate that. Prior to this policy there was a lot of foot traffic in and out. The lot is relatively small, watching for cars/trucks entering and exiting is difficult enough without having

This has got to be the cleanest, most organized and friendly recycling in SD. For couple of years now it's been a constant struggle looking for recycling centers. Where the heck did they go? Not that easy to find. Made me question is it even worth recycling? But I am all for saving the earth and all that.

This is a very good Recycling Center. They are friendly and quick. They have a decent size parking lot with lots of containers to place you recyclables in for weighing.

I brought a number of plastic drinking water bottles which earned me $8 and paid for my lunch. They have several location in town including here in El Cajon, Santee, San Carlos, and La Mesa.

They offer a fair market price for recyclables.
