Anshu Stephen K. and Anshu Rumiko Hayes taught a special 5-hour seminar at The Dojo Martial Arts in Mason, Ohio. 10th Degree Black Belt Stephen K. Hayes is the western world's foremost authority on the ninja. He is in the Black Belt Hall of Fame and has written 25 books. Since 2006, The Dojo has been the leader in teaching pragmatic Self-Defense and Leadership Skills to both adult and youth students throughout the greater Cincinnati area.
Our Instructors have spent decades devoted to training in the martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors. Through extensive testing and certification, our staff members now enjoy continuous learning, and sharing their experiences on to the next generations.
I know this is the right place when my 7yo girl is always looking forward to go to classes. They teach the kids self-defense techniques and much more. There is true camaraderie in the Dojo. One of the most welcoming and friendly places I have ever been. Mr. Norcross has created a place looks to balance both the body and mind.
Aside from being a martial artist since I was eight, I have been an avid musician on the side for nearly as long. I began playing guitar when I was 17 and singing to my two older sister's records since I was a child. I never took any formal lessons. In the mid 1990's, I eventually formed a local band where I was lead singer and lead guitarist It was short-lived with little success.
Below is a video tutorial for news students who are close to graduating to a new belt level. You must have earned two black stripes on your kyu belt to prepare for graduation. It means you are getting close. If your name is on the whiteboard, please Mr. Norcross to schedule your date and time. Please progress at your own pace with vigor and enthusiasm.

Positive: Professionalism
I have been in The Dojo family for a year now and have met so many wonderful people that help me to develop my martial art. All of the instructors are professional, courteous, disciplined and very patient in their teaching. As a older adult, I appreciate the forgiveness and patience. LOVE MY DOJO!!!

The Dojo has the absolute best martial arts program for kids in Cincinnati. My 7 year old girl has been taking classes there for over a year and she loves it! As a parent, I absolutely love and appreciate the ways that the Dojo incorporates home, school and martial arts life skills to teach kids to be better at all that they do. I simply cannot recommend this place enough!

Many martial arts schools nowadays are highly commercialized, run more like a business than a martial arts school. Often, these businesses teach martial arts as a sport. They 'compete' for glory and gold medals. This is dangerous, because the focus is not on staying alive in a dangerous fight in which there are no rules and you must be resolved to maim or even take someones life to save your own.
The instructors of The Dojo understand that what they teach can help save lives.
They do NOT teach sport, they teach for the sole purpose of protecting your life and the Dojo is unparalleled.

The Dojo has been such an amazing place for me to go. When I was younger, I would struggle with bullying and other like problems in school. After visiting the dojo, everything changed. I gained a confidence from training that has helped me grow as a person throughout my experience there. It's not just physical, it's spiritual and emotional. I've met so many great people there, both fellow students and instructors, who are like a family to me. Going into the dojo you always know they'll be there for you, and thats a beautiful thing. Our training isn't to hurt others, but rather to keep ourselves

The Dojo is not just a fantastic martial arts school, but a great place to visit and spend time in. From the moment you walk in the door you will be treated as if you are family. I am a black belt in another style from years back and yet this curriculum constantly surprises and challenges me to become a better martial artist. More then that The Dojo encourages each and every student to become a better person through tenets of mindful action. Since starting my Dojo Journey I have met with multiple personal and professional successes, and while I don't credit The Dojo and the wonderful teachers there

I have been attending classes at the Dojo for a little over a year now and couldn’t be happier with the school and it’s Sensei’s. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. All of the Sensei’s genuinely care about you and your progress throughout your training. I truly feel blessed that I have had the opportunity to train here and look forward to many more years of training. I highly recommend The Dojo to anyone that is looking for real world self defense training as well as learning valuable life lessons.
