Opening up your own private practice and do not know where to begin? Melissa can provide a 60-minute consultation for suggestions tailored to meet your needs in order to build a successful private practice. Are you planning to apply for your AASECT Certification and feeling overwhelmed with how to organize your application or where to begin in the certification process?
There are a lot of factors that contribute to the length of counseling, so it is difficult to predict until we begin working together. Therapy can be short-term, focusing on a specific issue, or longer-term, addressing more complex concerns or ongoing personal growth. Typically, clients commit to counseling for 6 months and progress is measured monthly.
18 years of age and older. We also offer a variety of 6-week group therapy sessions, and it is recommended that you inquire about upcoming group therapy dates since these vary when they are offered throughout the year. During your initial phone consultation, we will discuss the best time for our weekly appointments-- that way we can make sure that we are reaching your goals in an appropriate time.
We are not in-network with any insurance companies. However, Risso Counseling, Inc. staff will provide you with a superbill (an insurance-specific receipt) at the end of every month upon request. Some insurance companies partially reimburse you for the session fee you pay to us. Every insurance company has a different process, so it's important to check with your provider to see what this looks like.

She's a great counselor. I went to her for some personal reasons and she definitely helped me through everything. She's also very laid back, not the stereotypical shrink you see on TV because she actually converses with you in the room, gives you homework assignments, pushed me to work on things that were excuses to myself, and was just fun too. Thanks Melissa!
