Services
The story of Jensen's Cafe first began in the post-depression era in rural Fremont, Nebraska. Alvin Jensen operated a small gas station along Broad Street until taking over the Cafe across the street. And every five years, in honor of their Danish heritage, customers received free aebleskiever (Danish doughnuts).
Jensen's Cafe serves up some amazing all day breakfasts like Swedish Pancakes, Stuffed French Toast, Chipotle Benedict, and, most importantly, their Cafe! Jensen's Cafe is known for its amazing all-day breakfasts. Established in 2005, the cafe is in downtown Burnsville, which is now considered the Heart of the City.

Fun little breakfast place. When we got there we did have to wait 45 minutes but it's worth the wait. The banana pancake is one of the best I've ever had. We also ordered the eggs Benedict which comes on a little pancake which is sweet and different but good. We also got an order of biscuits and gravy which was good too. Yummy food!

Huge line when we came in on a Saturday, which really got our hopes up. We didn't have to wait long and the host was really professional. The server was great as well. Unfortunately the food was not. We ordered chipotle eggs benedict and the eggs came out hard boiled. I don't know if they forgot about the chipotle, but the hollandaise had no real flavor. The Belgian waffles were cold and the strawberries were rotten (see photos). Unfortunately, I don't think we will return.

Loved the eggs Benedict with cheesy hash browns! I didn't know it was with pancake bottom instead of an English muffin but I liked it a lot the sweetness contrasted the hollandaise sauce and maple Canadian bacon. Everything was perfect and it was our first visit. Our waitress Grace was great too! Definitely will be back.

The food here is really good. They serve breakfast all day and have items for both young kids and a senior menu. (they make their own syrup which is like a honey maple caramel and it's really, really good). However much like all restaurants during the pandemic, they are suffering from a lack of quality staff. The waits are very long even though not all the tables are full. The order takers aren't the best at customer service. We had five people in our party and one of them didn't get their food until all the rest of us were almost done. And, my order of strawberry stuffed french toast was wrong

Parking is a challenge. So expect to walk from the parking lot. There's also a waitlist first come first serve. I had to wait 50 minutes to be seated. Food was decent, server was attentive, refills kept coming and meals were hot and flavorful. I always love trying something new!
Nothing from their menu "wow"d me or made me want to come back for more.
Not a bad choice, but not a favorite.

We hadn't ate at Jensen's in a while. Parking here is always difficult and the last few times we tried we couldn't find a spot within a few blocks.
It was a very disappointing meal. Service was very slow despite the restaurant at 50% capacity.
We ordered the Biscuits & Gravy and the Crab Cake Benedict. Our food must have sat because by the time it was served the hashbrowns were cold and everything else was barely lukewarm. Our over easy eggs with both orders were way overcooked and hard.
Sam, our server, never checked back or offered refills. We barely ate our food and Sam

The good: great service, friendly people; food is very high quality. Clean restaurant, they work hard and care. But likely wont return due to waits; called ahead and call aheads are not accepted; no reservations; was told "about 15 minutes" when I called but that became 25 when arrived. This was a weekday mid morning. So if you have time thats great, but being no reservations are taken its pretty frustrating. Its a sign they have good food and business, but if you need to get back to the office or on with the day not a good option.

It was 30-40mins wait, which we were told. Good food, we enjoyed. Slow service, it was very busy. I had coffee and it took a while to refill and when she was refilling coffee pot was empty so it took a while to get my coffee and she topped my coffee which I was hopping to a new cup, didn't happen. Our server was very nice, she just needed more experience I think, I know she was overwhelmed, it would be nice to have more help in the restaurant. Would I go there again, yes I would but probably when it is not busy 😀 over all it was still good.

My girlfriend has been talking about this place for years, but it took until I moved to the area to actually come here. We have been back twice since. Everything I have ordered has been very tasty, and the portions are great. The servers are always awesome, and management is great. I look forward to coming back here again and again.

I used to go here all the time when there would be something happening at the Burnsville pac. They handled our big groups with ease and were always so nice to a bunch of 14 year olds. There's lots of light in the restaurants which may seem like nothing, but I love the natural light. I typically get chocolate chip pancakes with bananas and they never fail me. The hash browns are another favorite of mine and throughout the 10+ years Jensens has consistently been a place anyone in the area looks forward to visiting. I went shortly before the pandemic hit and really hope they're doing well

If all you want is a giant delicious caramel roll this is the place. The texture of the bread was just right, airy and soft, not over kneaded which can be tricky in bread making! The extra butter and caramel sauce they add to it is fantastic and the portion size in HUGE but exactly what I was craving. Not so sure about the rest of the place though but keep doing what you're doing with that roll recipe!

I love Jensen's! I've been coming here for years. The Scramble Rito is my favorite - whatever time I come, if they are serving breakfast, that is what I get. Their coffee is good, the ambiance is warm and cheery, and their servers are friendly.
Tip: try to go during the week, or early on the weekend. They are usually very busy on the weekend, and the wait time can be long.
Side note: if you celebrate your birthday there, you might even get ice cream for breakfast! (to the thrill of the kids, and kids at heart, in the group)

This is a nice little cafe in Minneapolis. We went on a weekend morning and we're seating pretty quickly but all the tables were pretty full. The people after us had to wait a little bit for their seat.
I had the lemon pancakes and they were really good! Also ordered some oatmeal for some fiber and that was a huge bowl I couldn't finish. Great breakfast cafe when in the area.
