After the major addition of a new rehabilitation unit in 2009, and physical upgrades throughout the community, Sandalwood prides itself on extending exceptional hospitality to our short-term rehabilitation guests, long-term care residents and their families. From the moment you enter the doors of our community, you will realize that this is not a care community of the past.
We are pleased that we chose Sandalwood for our mom. The fact that a number of her friends from the past have also chosen Sandalwood has enriched Mom's life and further proved that Sandalwood sets the standard for specialized nursing care in the area. First impressions are very good; the building is very clean, does not have any type of odors.

The Rehabilitation Center at Sandalwood is putting more emphasis on the mind, body and soul of healing by offering our guests the options of gardening, aromatherapy and Tai Chi in our outdoor therapeutic garden.Our special Healing Gardens area is purposely designed with uneven surfaces to allow guests to practice walking in real-life circumstances.

We understand that there are a lot of choices when it comes to short-term rehabilitation communities. I worked here for over 12 years. I started off as a nursing agency staff went to full-time nurse promoted to manager position. I also had my mother in the rehabilitation after a hospital stay and then she transitioned to long term care. She began to wander and was not safe had to move her to a secured facility. So, as you see I can see both sides as an employee and as a family member. The working conditions could be very overwhelming when we were "on call "as a part of nursing management ,we were required to help overnight shifts working as a CNA. This was very difficult as it was not my area of

My mother spent 6 weeks at Sandalwood rehabing after fracturing her tailbone. The loving nursing staff and excellent physical therapy allowed her to return home with renewed strength and hope. Everyone was so attentive in this beautiful remodeled comunity. In addition, as the only daughter in town, the staff provided great support to me with excellent communication. When the difficult time came to move my mother into skilled nursing there was no question that Sandalwood would be the right choice. The care was amazing. So grateful for such a professional and caring experience.

My father was admitted at this facility this past December after a stroke and because of their neglect he has been moved home to die. They didn't give his medications at the correct times, or even correctly, or even at all. I could write a book on the problems with the administration of the medications. They were also told at the beginning, of the importance of his water intake and that was ignored. Because of these problems he started to have seizures which they diagnosed as fainting spells. This was handled by putting him to bed and not treating him at all. Orders were written by the PA for changes
