Dear Friends and Visitors: We'd like to share the exciting, upcoming plans we have for Lake James Cellars with you. In the coming weeks, the name of our brand will change to Carolina Vines. In addition, we will be moving our winemaking operations and tasting room from Glen Alpine to Newton. The new location of our winery will be at Catawba Farms, 1670 Southwest Blvd.
Newton, NC. Our tasting room will be at Carolina Vines, 19 N. College Ave. We'd like to reassure you of these most important facts: while our brand name may be changing, the wines will remain the same, and they'll continue to be made by the same winemaker. Also, please know that the quality of our wines and our sincere interest in your enjoyment of them will not change.

Lake James Cellars, located the the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Glen Alpine
North Carolina, was a great experience. What it lacks in view in makes up for in friendly staff and great wine. Our hostess took great care of us and introduced us to some great wines. The overall experience was fantastic and we left with a special bottle for later. Give them a try! You won't regret it.

Nice quick stop on the drive to or from Asheville. Wines are made on site with North Carolina grown grapes. We tried the dry wine tasting and all the wines were very smooth. My favorite was their Syrah. Service was friendly and welcoming. $7 for 6 wines of your choice and they also have a sweet wine list to suit everyone.

I found this place via an exit sign that said antiques. What a gem this place is. A nice family winery and fantastic tasting wine. Very knowledgable workers. I ended up buying 4 bottles from this place and I wish I lived closer. Their ice-wine was the best I've ever had. If you are in the area, definitely stop by. If not, make a day trip and go visit this place. I'll be returning again that's for sure.
