Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway in Laurel Springs, NC, Thistle Meadow Winery offers individualized tours of our family-owned winery. Our tastings include wines made from grapes grown around the world. Regardless of immunization status, customers and employees are requested to wear a mask indoors unless actively eating / drinking.
We create a wide variety of red, white, and blush/sweet wines, ranging in taste from dry to sweet. If you live in one of the 30+ states where our wine may be shipped, you may place your order online. Our award-winning wines are hand-crafted in small batches to ensure the highest quality. Just recently, we were ranked third among North Carolina wineries by the South Eastern Winery Review and scored a perfect "10" in friendliness.

Services
Created by entrepreneur Tom Burgiss, a retired pharmacist, Thistle Meadow Winery is in its 20th year of operation. Still a small, family run business, the winery produces about 1700 cases of wine each year. We do not ship our wines within North Carolina. Our aim is to have our guests come by for a visit, a tasting, and wonderful, relaxing experience here in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
Our wine list includes a wide variety of wines - dry reds, dry whites, blush wines and sweet wines - even cooking wines - so you're sure to find a wine that matches your taste. Many of the wines made at Thistle Meadow Winery are named after landmarks, communities, or people found in Alleghany County, NC.

Came for the wine tasting , it was Great! A large list to choose from . Everyone there was friendly and helpful👍 Spacious area for tasting inside and a cute patio outside with a little waterfall . Beautiful grounds to enjoy your wine with ! Would recommend ! Extensive list of reds , whites, sweet and dry. Sure you will find something you’ll enjoy 🍷

What a dreamy experience! I hope everyone stops in for some amazing wine. They import their grapes from California, Italy, Spain and many wonderful wine areas. The tasting room has so many cute gifts! Tasting was $7 for 5 and it was a lot! So happy to have found this gem in Laurel Springs, NC. Sooo close to Blue Ridge Parkway and dog friendly♥️

Only a quick detour from the Blue Ridge Parkway, a trip to Thistle Meadow Winery is well worth the stop! They have a large verity of wines to taste and offer fascinating tours. When my husband and I stopped by Brant, the owner, was there to greet us. You can immediately tell he cares about his customers and is constantly improving his business. We did the tasting with Bill. He is also super friendly and knowledgeable about the wines he pours. We would highly recommend this winery to anyone.
