Services
At Georgia Eye Physicians and Surgeons we're committed to exceptional eye care for our patients and their families. We know how much the health of your eyes means for your quality of life. We're committed to serving your complete eye care needs with the respect and care we would use in treating our own family.
Most of us rely on our vision every day, and so it can be easy to take the health of the eyes for granted. Even those who do require some form of ongoing vision correction, like eyeglasses or contact lenses, only tend to come to an eye doctor when they realize that their prescription needs to be updated.
No matter what your individual vision concerns may be, proper treatment should always begin with a thorough diagnosis. However, not all vision problems are equal. Some can be identified with only a few simple tests, while others may require much more sophisticated diagnostic techniques. The type of eye exam you will be given is determined both by the reason for your visit or your chief complaint, as well as by your specific diagnosis.
Unlike office visits, which should be routine for check-ups and to order new eyeglasses or contact lenses, office consultations are conducted only when new patients have their first visit to Georgia Eye Physicians and Surgeons, or when established patients have a transfer of care. Some common health conditions, like shingles, diabetes, or even arthritis, can potentially have an effect on your vision.
A Routine Vision Exam involves basic eye tests that are no doubt familiar to those who use prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses for the correction of common refractive errors, like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. It is performed to determine the degree to which the length of the eye or distortions in the shape of the cornea and/or other areas of the eye are impairing the vision.

The physicians are great, but the service here needs a lot of improvement. With every interaction (via phone call or in person), there is always something that goes wrong, from being told inconsistent information to having the prescription wrong to giving me the wrong prescription for the sampling lens to try which resulted in me having to come back to the office again. I understand they have gotten very busy over time as the waiting times have also gotten longer, but being at the eye exam you can tell there is a lot of chaos occurring which affects how we are treated when we are being examed or

I have enjoyed having Dr. Segal as my eye doctor for over 6 years. I am, however, leaving this practice due to my dissatisfaction with wait times and billing practices. They quite obviously overbook appointments, as I have waited in the exam room for Dr. Segal for over 45 minutes each of my last 3 visits, but then they don't send you a text or leave a voicemail to remind you of your appointment. So I can only assume that part of their business plan is to overbook and collect a lot of $50 no-show fees. I called to complain about this and ask that my no-show fee be removed. I was greeted with an

I recently had bilateral laser cataract surgery with multifocal lens by Dr. Segal. After learning that cataract surgery would improve my vision, Dr. Segal reviewed the different types of lens and what each lens offered. He asked what my post-operative vision goal was, which was to hopefully no longer need to wear glasses.
I especially loved how Dr. Segal and Elizabeth (his surgical coordinator) ensured that I was well informed and prepared for the procedure
.
I could not be happier with the results of my surgery and I am extremely thankful for the care and expertise of Dr. Segal. I am forever

My daughter (7 years old) came for a visit here recently for an eye issue. Everything about the visit went fine, except that it was such a long visit, with a time in which we just sat in the exam room for probably 45 minutes doing nothing but waiting on the next person to come in and continue the exam.
We went there again today for my daughter’s annual eye exam, and also my son (5 years old) came too for his annual eye exam. My appointment was at 2:45pm. I arrived at 2:35, filled out paperwork and turned it back in. Then from 2:45 until sometime shortly after 3:00pm we went back to start the

I received poor service from the front office. I’m going to attempt to get the eye glass prescription I was charged and did not receive, one more time. If it isn’t provided I will be reporting them for insurance fraud. I was told “we will send it when we get a chance” I wonder if this how they treat their patients that refuse to pay $9,000 out of pocket w/insurance for recommended eye surgery. It’s been almost a week now. What’s the problem?

Careful! Bait & Switch! I scheduled a vision exam for my son over 3 weeks ago. When I went in for the appointment, I was told that our insurance was not accepted for the vision exam even though I pre-registered and provided my insurance information 3 days prior to the appointment. They had plenty of time to notify me that my insurance was not accepted but they waited until I picked my son out of school and brought him to the office before asking me to pay extra for the exam.

My cataract journey with Dr. Segal and staff started on May 3, 2021 after my primary care physician performed a routine eye test and recommended I make an appointment ASAP. I knew I needed stronger glasses but had no idea I had cataracts in both eyes (the left being “impressive” according to Dr. Segal). First problem was getting my dry eyes ready for surgery with HydroEye and then tear duct plugs in both eyes. I’m one of those people who can’t even insert eye drops into my own eyes so this kind of stressed me out. Dr. Segal assured me that he would numb my eyes with drops and I wouldn’t

I had my left eye cataract removal surgery performed by Dr. Segal in 9/2021 while my right eye cataract was removed about 5 years ago in Minnesota. Dr. Segal was referred to me by my Family Doctor Dr. Richard Maxa.
Prior to the surgery, I visited the office servers times and received friendly and professional care/consultation such as what will be involved in the pre/post surgery and surgery itself. Dr. Segal recommended to use laser assisted surgery to give a more precise cut/removal of cataract, so that a new mutifocus lens will fit better. . The surgery was done in Northside Hospital, Downwoody
