If you have pain that lasts for more than six months, you have "chronic" pain. It's different from the temporary pain you feel when you hurt yourself. With chronic pain, you may not know why you are hurting. Your pain may affect your whole body and your mind, causing problems that ripple through every part of your life.
The Thoracic Transforaminal injection procedure relieves pain in the upper back, ribs, and abdomen caused by a pinched nerve (or nerves) in the thoracic spine. The Cervical Epidural Steroid injection relieves pain in the neck, shoulders, and arms caused by a pinched nerve (or nerves) in the cervical spine.

Horrible experience that I hope helps others. With a glowing review of Dr. Joel from an acquaintance, I made an appointment for my elderly mother with severe arthritis. Upon arrival, the staff was rude from the very beginning and demanded payment even before we had seen anyone. I politely replied that I would pay as soon as we received service. After an extended wait, we were led back to a room where a very polite nurse took my mom's vitals. To all of our surprise, my mom's blood pressure was alarmingly high. My mom then went to the restroom where the paper towel dispenser almost fell off the wall

Dr. Kenneth Joel is very thorough and very skilled at his ability to pin point issues and offer solutions. He really listens and works with you as a partnership. He is willing to learn about your unique spine and come up together with interventional pain injections and management. His staff is phenomenal!! They nurses are very caring and kind. I highly recommend Dr. Joel and his staff at PPA!!

Don’t go here. They don’t bother to read the doctors orders that send you there, then proceed to tell you how they are going to treat you which does not match doctors orders. Once you get it straightened out they then proceed to treat you differently than ordered anyway and then tell you you need to come back for another round. Most painful thing I have ever had done, once was enough. Then they file insurance incorrectly and stick you with a bill that is double what they told you it would be. Completely incompetent and all they want is your money. Your health is bottom of their list of important

Pain Physicians of Atlanta is a very good group of Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, nurses and medical staff. They are a family that cares about their patients. Each individual cares about the well being of the people that walk through their doors. Smiles, kindness, caring words and attention. My physician is Dr. Wada. He is my physician but he is a friend. They set boundaries of what patients need to do for themselves to make life more livable with pain. Please consider this practice if you’re suffering with chronic pain. They will be honest and try to put into motion a direction to help you have

This is the most caring group of doctors who work to find out what is the real issue of you seeing them. They will work with you on testing and make suggestions which they think will help.
Every one of the office staff and the doctors are all great. They don’t look down on you for being a patient with them. I have had others which treat you like a criminal for following the rules.

It is not often I take the time to endorse a business, a medical practice or a physician. However, my experience with Pain Physicians of Atlanta is always a rewarding and pleasant experience since 2017 after having spine surgery I have gone to Pain Physicians of Atlanta for pain management. My main physician with the practice is Dr. Wada. He is my physician but I am also proud to call him a friend. My visits are for procedures or well visits, I always come away with nothing but 5 star treatment. Dr. Wada always asks about my family and I know he is truly interested. Michelle, my P.A. AVOID THIS PLACE. I found there to be a few kind folks that worked there, but overall had a terrible experience. First the doctor did not follow proper procedure which nearly stuck me with a $10k bill for an MRI that he required. Then the first cortisone shot did not fully work. There was a rescheduling hassle due to issues with the health of some of their employees. The second booster shot was given and wrecked my immune system giving me COVID like symptoms for over a week. When I called back to find out what drug was administered and what dose, my calls went ignored. I was considering legal action

OMG....this is one of the best practices & physician groups I know - Pain Physicians of Atlanta, Dr. Wada & entire staff. I have known Dr. Wada over 10 years and he has never failed. I work in Senior Healthcare and refer every patient/family to his practice. He is one of the best physicians I know. His thought process, his understanding of your challenges, and most importantly his diagnosis and treatments are life changing for his patients! I have been a patient for quite some time, and have received the BEST Care! Very compassionate and listen to everything said regarding my pain. I have had procedures and will trust no one else to manage my care. I have multiple pain issues, and each one is addressed as such. Pain is a horrible unwanted friend. When you find caring doctors and staff who empathize with you, knowing that life can and will be improved by treatment, why would you want anything or anyone else involved in your care!
