Dr. Hughes was born and raised in Herrin, Illinois. His family in Herrin goes back three generations. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel grade school and graduated from Herrin High School in 1980. He earned a bachelor degree in biology From Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1984 and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 1989 from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL.
Many of our patients don't have insurance, however, Hughes Dental Arts Centre doesn't feel this should keep you or your family from receiving the dental care you need. Had a fractured tooth extracted by Dr. Hughes and I didnt feel a thing. No pain! He took the time to explain what he was going to do beforehand and made me feel at ease. Highly recommend if you're like me and are anxious about dentist appointments or even if you're not! He is very good at his craft.

"The Hippocratic Oath taken by dentists promises to do no intentional harm to patients. The oath also describes the importance of sympathy and understanding throughout the care of a patient."
This "oath" does not match with the care I received, not even close.
Chronological Order of Treatment
1. Lying to me about a refund. After not creating a proper temporary denture that fit my mouth correctly. You adjusted the denture, over and over again, to no avail. $1700 denture that I can't wear. Promised me a refund, lied. This occurred early 2019. Also, left a stitch in my upper gums that can't come

The sedation was so pleasant, it was like eating a big bowl of ice cream, and going to sleep...waking up all done, and feeling like nothing ever happened... all these professionals have got it going on. the end results was great! if u want a caring, and friendly group of professional who listen to your personal needs, i recommend HUGHES Dental Arts Centre in Herrin, IL...

Dr. Hughes is a wonderful dentist, he takes his time to listen to his patients and is very professional; he also makes sure you are comfortable throughout your procedures. Dr. Hughes and his office staff are wonderful. I had a seamless hygiene appointment and comprehensive exam today. It was most thorough exam I have ever had and Dr. Hughes explained everything in detail. I am considering dental implant surgery to replace the crowns/bridge I have now. He has been doing implants for many years and I trust his opinion and skill. An added bonus is that I can be sedated for the procedure! I highly recommend Dr. Hughes and his staff.
