The Down Home Comfort Bakery is founded on our passion to bake delicious food that is made with all natural ingredients and a healthy dose of love. We love to bake. There is one thing, though, that we love as much as baking (if not just a little more!) and that is our community.
We, Keith and Maureen, started this bakery to provide our town with great bakes that take our customers back to their "home roots" as well as a place that feels like a second home.We are so proud to be located right on the bustle of Main Street. It fills us with joy and a sense of purpose to be able to get to know and serve the people of this community and to be involved in the growth of our town.

I’ve been here many times and bought more pastries, brownies, breakfast bars, and whole pies than my diet 🙄😂 would like to admit … but hands down this place has amazing 🤩 desserts and pies and cakes and all of the above 😝😄!!
My personal favorites are the breakfast bars (don’t let the name fool you - they are magical and probably should be renamed “awesome bars”) 😄 and the chocolate pecan pie. Delicious and decadent and perfectly done 👌🏼.

This cafe is adorable and has a wide range of bakery items and jam among many other things for sale. I got the cinnamon roll which was nice and sweet without being overly sweet. The lemon square was delicious along with their fudge. I'd definitely like to go back and check out their other items like the moonshine bread.

This is a wonderful place to stop for a treat or take a bunch home! The pies come big or small! We loved this because we could take several to try. It was hard to pick, but they all were amazingly delicious! The customer service was so friendly and so helpful. We highly recommend this bakery for all your baked good needs or wants! Yummy!

We purchased pies and mini whoopie pies from Down Home Comfort Bakery to serve as our wedding dessert. Not only were they absolutely delicious (we had no whoopie pies left at the end of the night!) but we also had a wonderful experience working with the owner, Maureen. When we visited for a tasting last year, she had tons of options prepared and sent us home with extras. She was responsive and flexible when we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and very kindly delivered the desserts to our wedding caterer, who was also located in Front Royal, at no charge. This place smells like home. You come inside and you want to taste and get everything. Cinnamon Rolls are to die for and you can even get them to customize your rolls according to your own choice. The owners of this bakery are such sweet hearts, it was an absolute pleasure talking to them. They also have pure wildflower honey which is priced well and nothing in this shop is over expensive. You must must MUST stop by and show them some love. Highly recommended.

This place is the real deal. Walked in around 10:00 am to find freshly baked cinnamon rolls right out the oven. Quite possibly, most likely the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. Also tried the sticky pecan pie which was also a delight. Met the owner, Keith, a 4th generation FR local and very nice man. This bakery is now a mandatory stop whenever I'm in downtown ❤️
