Dr. Mandava and our friendly, knowledgeable staff are dedicated to making every visit to our office a great experience. Expert dental care is provided with a warm, personal touch in a comfortable, relaxed setting. Middlebury Dental Group is a modern, state-of-the-art practice offering Middlebury area patients a full-range of general and cosmetic dental services, from routine check-ups to complete smile makeovers.
Maurine joined our team in 2016 as the Office Manager with 16 years of experience in the dental field. She brings with her a diverse dental background, working both with front desk and management positions. She is very knowledgeable with dental coding and the complex world of dental insurances. She is always ready to help patients resolve insurance issues and assist with treatment planning.
Dr. Mandava received his doctorate in dental surgery from New York University, College of Dentistry in 2004. While attending NYU he experienced working at several facilities and gained valuable knowledge by assisting with many complicated surgical procedures. He has practiced restorative and oral surgery and cosmetic surgery for more than 12 years and now owns the practice here in Middlebury, Connecticut.
Daily brushing and flossing will keep dental calculus (tartar) to a minimum, but a professional cleaning will remove calculus in places your toothbrush and floss have missed. Your visit to our office is an important part of your program to prevent gum disease.
Most patients are on a 6-months recall to have their teeth cleaned by one of our hygienists, however, we also offer "accelerated" recalls to help patients with periodontal issues to stay on track.It is not uncommon for patients to have their teeth cleaned every 3-4 months. Some patients may even require a schedule of every 2 months.

Over time, the gums may recede or the enamel or dentin on your teeth may wear down, creating the conditions for tooth sensitivity. My appointment the other day was terrific. I had a lot to get a lot done and was very nervous. I want to say thank you to Dr. Mandava's assistant Kelly. She eased my nervousness with kind words and reassurance. Dr. Mandava was great too, but Kelly made me feel like a friend was at my side and really knew her stuff!

I started with this dentist office when I moved to Middlebury in 2017. Hands down the best dentist I’ve ever had. Dr. Mandava’s bedside manner is second to none; he is incredible. Also, Kelly the dental assistant was so friendly and thorough and made me extremely comfortable. I recommended them to everyone.

Omgggg my mother went for an appointment and came home completely dissatisfied and disappointed. The Kelly girl was entirely disgusting to my mother. Almost had her coming home in tears. I felt so bad for her. I really couldn’t believe someone could treat another human being such a way. THERES NO REASON WHY SOMEONE CAN RUIN MY MOTHERS EXPERIENCE. My mom has had prior panic attacks before from hospital n dentist due to the PANDEMIC, , YOU WOULD THINK KELLY WOULD HAVE A HEAVIER HEART. Thorough and educational. It was the most in depth dental visit I've ever had. They also didn't make me feel bad for not having had a check up in many years. They let me know my options and recommendations but didn't push me into anything. I've had bad experiences else where but I already feel comfortable and confident with my care here. Thanks!

I am so grateful that they were able to get me in and such short notice, had lost a filling from previous dentist didn’t even last two months. But they were able to fix it and I left with a smile on my face. Dr Mandava and Kelly are amazing and so nice, they have a lot experience and also very informative about fillings etc. I really enjoy the staff they were all so nice to me, as soon as I walked in It made me feel so comfortable, and not nervous at all!

I never mind a trip to Middlebury Dental Group, so I’m starting to think that anyone who fears the dentist may not have found the right dentist yet. I have been coming to Dr. Smith for thirteen years,and he has taken care of me and my two sons during that time. Dr. Smith is not only a fantastic dentist, but he is also an intellectual. I know more about how my teeth are working than I ever did in the past,and I know that from someone who has his own practice and who also teaches seminars at the University of CT.
