I notice that the vast majority of the positive reviews are from years ago. As time goes on, they get worse and worse.

Last night, I cancelled an appointment for today, via email. There was no access to any link to cancel an appointment, so I emailed. Today I get a text saying I was a no-show for today. I emailed again and it got bounced back. I called the salon, where they informed me that I was a no show and therefore couldn't send them an email. I have no interest in supporting a business that treats their customers rudely and punitively.

Critical: Professionalism
I called and booked an appointment. When I arrived two minutes before the appointment time, they said my appointment was not showing up. There was nobody available to give me a pedicure. Never going back.

3 days later, nail polish is chipped and completely off two fingers. I've done nothing unusual but the OPI polish at the salon was so thin that my guess is it's highly diluted. Salon looks nice but prices at checkout were higher than online prices and higher than in-store brochure. Mani/pedi was brisk with no massage whatsoever. Pedicure still looks fine but manicure didn't last two days.

RON did an amazing job! If you are looking for a technician who takes his time to make sure he perfect his craft than definitely schedule an appointment with Ron! I love that he doesn't rush and that he wants your nails to look perfect just like you do! He is up to date with the latest trends. He also gave a pedicure that was to do

UPDATE:
My nails were cut way too short and every nail shape was different. I was told I could come back for a free re do with Terri. Once I got there they tried to convince me that my nails looked good she just needs to shape them more..... she hardly changed

Worst experience ever. I went in to get my nails done. First it was $30 then $35 because I should get an upgrade of some sort that would last longer. Then it would be more if I already had gel on my nails. After that the manager said he didn't have time. The assistant said she did. I just left with a "no thanks." I felt like they were trying to get every last dime out of me. How they survive serving a senior community in Leisure World is beyond me.

Great nail salon.They are a full-service salon, offering mani-pedis, waxes, facials, haircuts, and massages. It is a true Leisure World gem, tucked away by the Ledo's. My girl was Tiffany who took her time and did a great job. Will go back again.

This morning, I went to the Avalon Spa in Leisure World for a manicure and pedicure. My technician was the only male on the staff. I think his name is Ron.

It was the worst experience I ever had! Though I had made an appointment in advance, he was in a big hurry, and I felt rushed and uncomfortable. Because I had foil on my fingers, I asked him to help me pluck the polish for my pedicure from my purse, but he wasn't listening. He seemed so far away! So I did it myself and dropped the bottle. The place is ok. I think they do good but not an excellent job. I like my nails done perfectly, otherwise I can do it myself. Don't think I will be going back.

Had the worst experience in this place. The only guy on the nail team did my manicure and pedicure. I had heard he was very good, but he was awful. Let me tell you why:
l. He was in such a hurry to get done with me, that I felt rushed and uncomfortable. I thought a spa specializes in making people feel comfortable and relaxed. Not the case with this guy.
2. I tried to make conversation, but he was in another world. He was very peoccupied and hardly responded to my questions. For instance, when I asked him to help me pluck the polish for my pedicure from my pocketbook, he didn't answer me. I asked

Came here two years ago and they cut my finger when trying to shape my nails. Came back today thinking it was probably a one time thing but they cut my friend's fingers twice.
We both asked for dip powder manicures today and it's the worst manicure I've ever gotten. They ruined the shape of my nails and they're not even the same shape for all fingers. The powder was put on so thickly and it just looks like circular blobs on each finger. They never apologized and even blamed us for their terrible job.
Highly disappointed and can't wait to get these off.

My friend and I decided to come give Avalon a second chance, despite the fact that my friend had been cut here 2 years ago, and this experience was far worse. Not only did the lady doing my nails cut me (twice), she also did not even apologize or show an ounce of guilt. The entire time she was doing my nails, she was yanking my hands. I was pleased with this place until last week , I made a 12:30 appointment. I was seen an 1:00 and he told me he has another appointment so he didn’t finish my nails ,he took the person and gave me another girl to finish my nails I was rushed I didn’t even get lotion or massage my hands .
I was very disappointed they should have told me we are busy we can’t take you.

Tucked in the back of a strip mall plaza, a full service salon with hair, nail, and spa options. Next to Leisure World so it has a regular clientele and that chatty neighborhood vibe. Appointments are recommended but they do their best to accommodate walk ins.

I love this place! My first time there I didn't make an appointment, but they took me immediately. For the future, always make an appointment first. My pedicure was amazing and I got a full set with the dip powder. My nails look incredible and she did the shape beautifully. I will be returning and 100% recoomed this place to anyone. They took the time to learn my name and asked questions about me. The management was wonderful as well as the staff.

Love this place!!! I moved in the area over a year ago and they have been the need to go for everything. They are so sweet, I noticed they know their clients by name and take their time making sure I knew every step of my requested services. They got me hip to dip and my goodness that my favorite thing now, they actually talk to you and keep it in a motion where there's no awkward silence LOL , Not only do I love this salon but I love the team! I have been coming to this salon since it opened several years ago. Love the way that they take care of people, they are kind and inviting. The services that I go there for are: Brazilian Wax (with Terry. She is quick! Will have you out of there in 20min or less. LOVE her!) Eyebrow-Threading (Moana, the owner. I only allow her to touch my eyebrows. There's someone else there that threads as well, but I am picky). Whenever I get a mani/pedi, I've gotten it done with Terry and Emmy. Definitely go there and try out the wax! Highly recommend it.

I love this place. I come here every 3 weeks to get a pedicure and SNS dip manicure. The salon is beautiful and calm. It's tucked away in Leisure World shopping center behind Ledo's Pizza. Teri does my nails and she is absolutely fantastic and precise in her art. I highly recommend Avalon Nail Spa for your nail needs.

Best service I’ve ever received. Especially the hand massage she gave me before she did wonders on my nails. I especially love that they offer you a drink as you get your nails done. Great job guys!

Love this spot. Had been bouncing around the 1,000 salons in the Olney/Rockville area for years until I found this one. Ron gives the best massages and all the nail technicians are pretty good. Very causal environment while maintaining some luxury vibes. Reasonably priced for manis and pedis. Sweet, personable, and flexible staff. My fiancée and I walked in yesterday around 6:30 pm to get pedicures done. They were about to close but still got our pedicures done. The techs we had (Ron and another young lady) were very efficient and while the process was quick, the final product was great. The environment is very nice and tranquil. The equipment is well maintained, especially compared to other salons around the area. The entire salon is very clean. We met one of the owners (Mona), and she was very kind and welcoming. We will surely be going back to try out their other services.

I was really trying to hold off writing this review, hoping that there would be a happy end to this story, but alas....Looks like I have the dissenting voice among my fellow Yelpers.

After reading the fantastic reviews I decided to check this place out last week. I was especially excited because the salon is a very short distance from my home.
