I did a local reef dive and manta ray dive with this shop. I like that they're smaller business than the other dive shops and came recommended to me through a coworker. I thought the dive masters were great. Shout out to Andrew for being a great fish IDer and writing underwater notes on his pad!
Saw ~7 manta rays on the night dive which was so amaze. Local reef dive is more exciting for expert divers who like small life (fish diversity, nudis). I didn't see any bigger fish life but that's ok. I did see eels and puffer fish.

I did the 2 tank morning dive and had the most amazing time! Eddie the captain started the morning off with a fun intro and got everyone pumped for the day. My guide, Andrew, was super cool and easy to work with as he showed us some cool underwater caves and local dive sites. Tiffany was the instructor for a private group on our boat and was full of life - this is a really cool team/company to dive with. Shout out to Tara, another instructor, who was the reason I decided to dive with Aquatic Life and I've heard she has a speciality for finding all the cool sharks/fish/dolphins :) My family

I just had a once in a lifetime dive experience with Captain Frank and Dive Master Anna. I did the night Manta Ray dive and it was amazing. It might have been the best dive of my life and I have been diving 40 years. They were professional with a real ohana spirit. I am diving with ALD again for at least two more days and if today is the norm for the service and experience than I am a lifetime ALD guy!

These guys were great. All the equipment is top notch. Staff is excellent. Very knowledgeable and took great care of us. I have some muscular skeletal issues and they made sure I was comfortable getting in and out of the water. Special shout out to Andrew, our dive master, who made sure everyone was ok during both dives. Dives were great. We had a incredible dolphin experience on the first dive with multiple dolphins on the ocean floor with us fooling around. Not sure who was watching who. Second dive with the mantas also great. Mantas swimming all around us.

Small boat with very personal service! We went on a night manta ray dive, dive masters were very professional, fun and knowledgable. Loved that they set up and took down all of the gear. Dive masters went above and beyond in the water to be sure we were comfortable, safe and had a great manta ray encounter. My husband snorkeled while my kids and I dove, he said snorkeling was amazing and he loved it.

We were interested in the manta ray dive and came across the blackwater dive. Of the handful of shops that offer the blackwater dive, Aquatic Life Divers had the most dates available (you have to call to book due to the nature of the dive). We were not disappointed at all in the manta dive. First there was an in-depth briefing on the mantas including several that we would almost certainly see during the dive. You're so close that you have to duck when they glide over your head. The blackwater dive was definitely a unique experience. While we didn't see any large sea life, we saw numerous

My family of four went for a manta ray snorkel with Aquatic Life Divers. The boat was comfortable and we could spread out. It was not crowded at all! They are one of the first to go out, so we got to enjoy a beautiful sunset while learning about these amazing creatures. The crew is young, funny and pleasant. They are an excellent team and everything was done on time. Strongly recommended.

Aquatic Life Divers (ALD) rolled out the blue carpet for this rookie diver! Calypso, Frank, Andrew, Erin and Evans gave personal attention to every part of the two outings and four dives that I needed to complete my certification.
The ALD staff were professional, respectful of all skill levels, safety conscience and encouraging teachers.
ALD provided all the equipment (I've never had a mask fit so well or resist fogging as much as what they provided) for the dive as well as provided name brand sodas, juices and snacks.

We did the Black Water & Manta dives with Mark & Kelly (I think? The Manta Queen?). Both were excellent, once in a lifetime experiences! We were a little nervous about the black water dive, but Mark gave a comprehensive safety briefing and was attentive to us throughout. Once in the water I felt completely safe & calm! The only downside to either dive was that I didn't want them to end!
The boat was extremely comfortable, with a dry bin for each group of divers, adequate enclosed & open space, and plenty of snacks/drinks.

After reading reviews and talking to different dive shops on the Big Island, I chose Aquatic Life Divers for my Open Water Diver certification. Another dive shop advised me to consider the type of boat I would be gearing up on and entering the water from. They recommended Aquatic Life Divers because they have a nice, big boat with plenty of space (and a toilet). I was also concerned about class size. ALD books no more than 4 students per course (there was only 1 other student in my course) so I knew my instructor's attention wouldn't be spread too thin. The staff was very personable,

Dane and Becca were brilliant! Both my daughters (16&19) and myself are newly certified divers but Dane and Becca treated us like pros while still keeping a close eye on us and making sure we were safe. We did the two tank dusk and manta dive and it was spectacular. They have a clean, well stocked boat, new equipment, and outstanding service. You cannot ask for nicer or more knowledgeable people that go out of there way to make this a memorable experience.

We did a two tank manta ray night dive with them and everything about the dive was incredible. The crew was extremely professional, intelligent, and safe. The boat was by far the nicest I thought I had been on in Kona, with bathrooms on board and padding around the entire boat. You could even go out on the bow very easily (some boats you have to scale around the side to do that). The dive itself was one of the best moments of my life - we saw 12 manta rays! We also saw a pod of dolphins en route to the site. Highly, highly recommended for the manta ray night dive!

We had a great time with this company. We did a morning 2 tank dive and also an evening 2 tank dive with the last dive being the Manta Night dive. That was a once in a lifetime experience. We were very low experienced new divers and were taken care of all the way. The guides were very attentive but didn't treat us like children either. We will definitely use them again if we dive in Kona.

Dude. Manta rays, at night!!! Top 10 "Must Do" in your life. I am a SoCal divemaster with 300+ dives and this might be one of my greatest experiences.
Amazing company and solid service. The rental gear was almost brand new. They use weight integrated BCDs which makes everything nice and compact. Very well priced rental gear at that.
Captain Dane took us out and spent time looking for spinner dolphins before we got to the dive spot.
Divemaster Dani gave a great natural history lesson on manta rays and in-depth predive.
The company seems to really care about the natural resources

The crew - Evan, Kelly, and Calypso - were professional, competent and up beat. Genuinely enjoy their work and set the tone for a fantastic memorable evening. I bailed on the dive - and without missing a beat - joined the snorkel group. Kelly guided us over Mantas above the campsite. And then - - - magnificent Mantas right with our group feeding and swimming inches from us. Could do this again and again. Thanks very much for spectacular memories. Definitely would go again, and again.

My friend and I went scuba diving with Aquatic Life Divers and we couldn't have loved it more! While my friend is certified, I was just trying it for the first time so I did a discover dive meaning i got a crash course in the basics and went on a relatively shallow dive with an instructor compared to the rest of the group that could go deeper.
My instructor, Calypso was so great! She was very knowledgeable, explained things really clearly, wa a clear communicator underwater with her hand signals, and was constantly checking back to see if I was ok. I felt very safe. She also was great and

We had a blast with ALD the staff was amazing, the trip was out of this world! This was my first time scuba diving and Frank was so patient with me, even though I was about to give up on me, he never did! My second dive was flawless, and we were able to enjoy everything down to 47 feet. This might be the coolest experience of my life. I will be back!

Went with Aquatic Life Divers to complete PADI certification this morning. The boat and crew were very helpful and friendly. Dolphins and honu in the harbor. Ran into a pod of pilot whales en route to the second dive, so we were able to get out and snorkel close by to see them above, below water!
Aquatic Life Divers is a newer company, but were great and should really be considered for your dive!

Diving with Aquatic Life Divers was amazing! They are a newer dive company around the Kona area, so the boats and equipment were pretty new. Everyone on the crew was very helpful, thoughtful, and experienced (shout out to our dive master, Evans!). It made me feel right at home diving, especially since it was my first dive after getting certified.
We got to see everything they promised for and then some. We did two dives with them, for the Classic-2-Tank Dive, we saw a pod of dolphins on the way out to our dive site, and the captain intentionally drove us closer (and at a safe distance) to watch
