After we moved to the big island of Hawaii, we found that many of our friends are also scuba divers and trying to coordinate a day on a boat became challenging and expensive. So we started our business. Chad and I spent time talking with other divers about dive sites, entrance points, conditions, and what to expect.
Then we started our underwater research: visiting the sites and diving! As we introduced our friends to the new sites, the feedback we received was "you should start a business." Fast forward a couple of years to Chad having the opportunity to attend a PADI Instructor Development Course. The idea that had been a distant dream turned into something we could work toward!

What a great time! Kids got certified. We were extremely impressed with the teaching and professionalism. They were nervous before they started and excited by the end. Did extra dives with our family and saw dolphins, eels, mantas, turtles, etc, etc. No seasick worries with the shore dives. I would highly recommend.

10/10 experience! Chad is a fantastic instructor that helped me complete my final check out dives in Kona, HI. He was extremely professional and friendly - you can really tell he loves what he does! We completed 2 shore dives at the "two step" location where we saw eels, octopus, turtles, and tons of amazing coral and fish. Chad outlined everything before we began, offered us snacks/drinks between dives and had some great stories to share. He even had a shower system to rinse the salt water off after we finished diving! We booked a discovery dive with Chad through Air BnB (back in early May) and had the most amazing time.
The dive spot was perfect, and it couldn't have been a better experience!!
I was already certified but my husband was not, so I wanted to find something we could both enjoy together.
We spent a good amount of time learning the basics, getting oriented, and doing safety exercises, and spent the rest of the time we had exploring. We discussed what we saw on our first dive, and went back for more diving. We both saw a lot of ocean life and it was definitely enough time for my husband to fall

We have advanced certifications and about 60+ dives logged but have been unable to dive for about 6 years. Kona Dive Center referred us to Chad for a refresher course before we went on a night Manta Ray dive with them. I didn't think it was necessary but I'm also ok with more dives and it couldn't hurt, right? Well it was awesome going through the basics again and having two great dives. Had a great experience with Diving Bell, Chad was awesome! The option to do a private guided shore dive instead of going on a charter was perfect. He was receptive to what we were hoping to see on our dive and took us to the location that would give us the best chance. His gear was in great condition, he was very attentive while guiding us. If I return to the big island, I would definitely call him again... thanks Chad!

We had a marvelous experience. We dove a two tank dive with Chad Bell at Two Step beach. The reef was beautiful and teaming with life. Chad was awesome. He took great care of us and we could not have had a better experience. Chad and his wife are both Dive Masters, they are extremely professional and definitely the “A” game in Kona.
We also did the Manta Ray dive with Chad. It was on my bucket list. Incredible!

We did 2 days with Chad and Fran. They are a relatively new diving outfit and don't have a boat. They focus on shore dives and there are a ton of great choice for that on the Big Island.
We had 3 certified divers and one very nervous person on referral. Chad worked with her very patiently and was a careful teacher. The other three of us went with Fran and she pointed out many cool things including several moray eels and various fish. Chad also had keen eyes and we saw an octopus on our second day.
Our sites were Keauhou Bay where we saw manta rays, and Two Step where we had snorkeled before

Great option for those looking for a Kona dive alternative to Honokohau Small Boat Harbor outfits. Chad and Francis are true pros, know shore dive sites like the back of their hand - day AND NIGHT - have the experience and temperament to assure any enjoyable, safe experience.
