Massapoag Yacht Club was founded on the shores of Lake Massapoag in 1946. MYC is an all-volunteer organization that has become a landmark for yacht racing in Massachusetts, as well as the Northeastern region of the US. Whether you are brand new to sailing or have extensive experience, MYC offers organized competition for all ages.
We have hosted national sailing competitions as well as local and regional regattas. We hold races from May to October for all sailboat classes including juniors. For details see our Events Calendar.

MYC docks are in! Before I get into details, let me take a moment to congratulate all of you on your response to this challenging situation. As sailors, I know staying at home and not having access to the club was tough. But we're getting there, and soon we can get back on the water and enjoy all the best lake Massapoag has to offer!
We couldn't do any of this without hard work from all of you. It's the members that make the place tick and make it such a welcoming spot for sailors. From everyone pitching in to get the club opened, to the people who daily go the extra mile in making sure, among many other things, that the grounds are clean, the facilities are working, and the lights stay on.
Spring is finally here - and in two weeks we will open MYC for the season. Though the club has been dormant for the winter, your Board of Directors has been busy. One topic that has been very much on my mind since the Annual Regatta in September is Safety. In the days after the Regatta and its accompanying freak squall, we heard from many members who were either racing or helping run the event.
Late this afternoon I jumped on my sunfish and pushed off into the glittering lake. After listening to the hoots and hollers of excited crews passing by the finish boat over the past two days of the regatta I had to get out and feel the pull of a sail myself. The west wind was strong enough that I was convinced the sunfish was leaping out of the water with the gusts.
I am constantly surprised at the all the amazing things this small sailing club accomplishes. We maybe small but we act like a much larger club. I was recently looking at the MYC Facebook page, the stories are great. If you do not have Facebook it would be worth joining just to follow MYC. I have included a few recent post below to share with those of you who are not the social media types.
