Vision therapy is an evidence-based, structured program of training exercises designed to restore and enhance normal visual functioning and visual-cognitive processing. It's like physical therapy for the eyes and brain! Did you know that 80% of learning comes through vision? Neuro-optometric rehabilitation is an individualized treatment program for patients with visual deficits due to a concussion, stroke, visual field loss, or other traumatic brain injury. Vision difficulties can range from mild to severe and are collectively known as post-trauma vision syndrome (PTVS).
Eye allergies - otherwise known as allergic conjunctivitis - is the body's response to an environmental allergen e.g. When this occurs, the immune system makes antibodies that cause your eyes to release histamine, a strong chemical mediator in the local immune response. This causes redness, itching, burning, and congestion.
We do not participate with vision discount plans. However, annual routine eye care may be covered under some medical insurance policies. We will be happy to assist you in determining your eligibility and to answer any questions. All evaluations for vision therapy are billed to medical insurance. There is no charge for a follow-up consultation with the doctor to review the results and treatment recommendations.

My daughter worked with Dr Mike for her vision therapy when she was younger and it was life changing for her. She continues to go to him as a patient annually, and we always know she is being dealt with the best of care. He is friendly, professional, and always makes going to the Dr as pleasant as possible. Jody, from the office staff is also friendly, kind, professional and welcoming too!

Dr Montenare is the best!!! My 14 year old daughter was complaining about her vision and reading for a few years. I had taken her several times to another doctor and he did not address the issue. I found Dr Montenare who did vision therapy with and saw positive results quickly. He was excellent with her and listened to what she was describing as her issues. She has not complained at all about reading now and has made doing school work less if a battle. I wish I had found him sooner.

My experience at Montenare Eye Care was fantastic! The entire staff made me feel comfortable. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Mike! I have had headaches while reading for years and Dr. Mike diagnosed me with convergence insufficiency. I have had a few sessions of vision therapy and can already see a huge difference! Highly recommend!!
