Senator Bob Hooper House
Owned and operated by the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, our 10,570 square foot house consists of eight private and uniquely designed rooms that include overnight facilities for visitors, as well as a private patio or deck. In addition, there is a community kitchen, dining room, living room, a children's playroom and a non-denominational chapel.

Specialized medical care and supportive services for residents and their loved ones are available through Gilchrist and Amedysis providers. Because end-of-life care often exceeds what can be provided at home, our team of professionals and volunteers handle residents' needs so that loved ones and families can treasure remaining time and focus on what matters most.
Services
Life and death are unique and very personal experiences. When facing end of life, both the individual and their family experience a flood of emotions and anxiety. The Senator Bob Hooper House can relieve some of the stress and worry when someone is terminally ill and allow families to make the most of every moment they share together.
Wendy Snee, a 47 year old nurse and life-long resident of Harford County, vividly remembers the first time that she laid eyes on the late Harford County State Senator Bob Hooper. And, like many, she remembers a vibrant, larger than life figure, who was always reaching out to his neighbors and making things happen for the community that he loved so much.
At the Senator Bob Hooper House, we are committed to making sure the highest quality of care and compassion are provided to our residents and their families. Whether it is medical services or supportive care, every member our team plays an important role. Cindy Hushon is the Chair for the Board of Directors at the Senator Bob Hooper House-she is also Bob Hooper's daughter.
The Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation supports the mission of University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) by developing relationships with local citizens and organizations who wish to take part in the expansion and improvement of health care services provided in Harford County.

Through the work of The Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, the community supports its hospital through philanthropic gifts, planned giving, participation in fundraising events and volunteerism.
Senator Bob Hooper House is a place of peace and serenity for those in the final stages of life. And, because each person's death like each person's life is unique, our residence focuses on individual resident needs. The residence provides a home like environment with private rooms, community kitchen, dining room, family room, and even a play room for younger visitors.

I couldn't have hoped for a better place for my mother to be as she moved on from this life to the next. The facility is homelike, clean, bright, and provides the right amount of privacy for you and your loved one. I can not praise the staff enough! The level of caring and compassion they have for your loved one and their family's is beyond anything I have experienced before at the rehab's and hospital's mom was at before. I'm so glad I chose them for my mother. Everyone there made a difficult time, a little easier to deal with because of their care. We need more places like this!!!

The facility is home-like, beautiful, clean and spacious. Their customer service is better than any healthcare facility I have had any dealings with and I was in hospital administration for decades.
My father spent the end of his life here, and he thanked me for finding this facility. I only hope that when my time comes I find a place which approaches this level of care. I would recommend the Hooper House to any family in need of hospice services.

This hospice is nice, clean, and quiet. They kept my loved one comfortable and took good care of her. The rooms and bathrooms are quite large and private. The staff is friendly.
