Our steel Reflective Firebacks will maximize the heating potential of your fireplace. These robust units with their large surface area will heat up quickly and bounce even more heat back into your home. Firebacks also act as a heat shield to protect your fireplace's back wall against fatigue. The use of a fireback is required in all types of factory built and or metal fireplaces to limit heat transfer when using the vertical Wall of Fire grate.
Our steel economy firebacks are a cheaper alternative to our high quality reflective firebacks. They shield the lower portion of your fireplace's back wall from excessive ember heat. This is the area where most fireplaces become damaged after several years of steady use.
A fireback is usually an optional component in correctly built masonry fireplaces however, firebacks are required in all pre-fabricated, condominium style, and metal units when using a Wall of Fire grate.All economy firebacks are made from 3/8" thick shatter-proof steel and are 10" tall. Fireback feet are permanently attached.

We built a new house with a beautiful 50” wood burning fireplace as the centerpiece of our large great room. We have constantly battled drafting air properly and constantly smoke in the room. We tried so hard to keep the fire in the back of the box that rear refractory panel began to breakdown prematurely which is how we found Grate Wall of Fire.

Running my own business I only hope my employees are as capable as those I've met at Grate Wall of Fire.
The large Rumsford grate is truly high quality as is the backing plate. Unfortunately the finials in my case didn't work out, my own fault for choosing the incorrect ones.
They helped with the return and I've decided to purchase a second grate for a new fireplace in the basement family room.
I can't say enough good things about the product or the people!

I purchased the 26" wide backplate and matching grate. Fits beautifully, works very well and I also love being able to stoke the fire much easier than a traditional grate. Was a little hesitant due to price but you truly do get what you pay for. Someone recommended a back plate because of older brick and must say being able to use the fireplace again after a year is priceless. Merry Christmas 🎅🎅🎅

I had been having trouble with my fireplace drawing correctly, smoke was spilling into the room. I did some research and read very positive reviews on your products, so decided to give it a try. I ordered a vertical grate and a fireback. I have used my fireplace about a dozen times and, no smoke in the room. Works as advertised, absolutely would recommend. Wonderful product. Thank you

Moved into a house and the fireplace smoked us out. I thought I was going to have to get glass doors. Did some research and read the reviews here. They are right on. Now the fires are easy to start, no smoke, plenty of heat. I can enjoy the fire without glass. I couldn’t be happier with the product. I don’t have a backplate by the way and it works fine.
