Bill's Lock Shop was established in San Bruno in 1970 and has been locally owned for over 40 years. Owner, Peter Carey, is a member of the American Locksmiths Association, Better Business Bureau, San Bruno Lions Club and San Bruno Chamber of Commerce. Originally located on the 400 block of San Mateo Avenue in San Bruno, Bill's Lock Shop moved to 501 San Mateo Avenue for 35 years.
In 2005 we moved to 1710 El Camino Real, Suite C, still in San Bruno. I'm located right next to Jack in the Box and Toto's Pizza on the San Bruno Millbrae border. I'm proud to be a one man operation as a locksmith here in San Bruno. What makes me unique is my customer service. We needed to rekey locks at our house. Peter was early for our appt. His price was the best. The thing I appreciated most about him was he told me all the charges up front.

Bill's been taking care of the local area forever. Wife had gone there several time for this or that, but I dropped by because I had a difficult key to shoot. His shop is mostly a man cave - Bill is a community guy and his business is an extension of himself. He cut my keys perfectly (perfectly as in they worked smoothly when I got back to the vehicle, unlike the other keys I had purchased elsewhere). We chatted for a bit and he thanked me on the way out.

I phoned Bill for a bid on new dead bolts for a rental property. He went to the property and informed me that my current dead bolts were good. He was honest and his price to re-key the locks for the new tenants was reasonable and competitive. I recommend Bill for his honesty, professionalism, and good prices.

I needed a special key for a lock-box that nobody else could make. Owner Bill took the time to hand search his extensive inventory to find the key blank that fitted my lock. It worked perfectly! Bill is a really nice guy who will go the extra mile for his customers. I highly recommend him!
P.S. his shop is set back off El Camino so it's easy to miss. The driveway is right next to the Jack In The Box.

Had a great and seamless experience with my first time dealing with this shop. My tenants were having issues with opening the entrance main door for the home. Bill came out on the same day within an hours call.
Also, his prices are very competitive (best price that I found after calling a couple of other local locksmiths.) The business also does mobile- go directly to your home fixes.
Highly recommend and wouldnt hesitate to do business with again.

Just called to ask if they would cut a key for me that I would be providing. Person who answered the phone was very short and irritated. Prior to ending our phone call he abruptly exclaimed, "Give us a call if you are gonna come by to make sure someone's at the shop!" Well kind sir, you can wait all you want for that call because I'm going to take my "$2-$3" key copy job elsewhere (like Millbrae Lock maybe). Little did you know I wanted to see the customer service I would receive prior to getting ALL MY LOCKS changed at home (something I've been planning to do

I called Pop N Lock the day before and they didn't even come out!? So, I decided to look up local Locksmiths in the area and came across Bill's. I gave them a call and they were very polite on the phone. I explained to them the problem I was having and he suggested using some WB-40 first, if that didn't work they'd be more than happy to come out. So, they came out to place at Shelter Creek and within minutes corrected the problem. These guys know what they're doing! I would definitely use them again and refer their business
