We are allowing clients back into the building. We will still be offering curbside service for customers if you do not feel comfortable entering the hospital. You can call 336-874-2050 from your vehicle and a staff member will assist you with your appointment or pick up. We encourage customers to continue social distancing practices.

At State Road Animal Hospital, PA our well trained animal health care team offers complete patient care and the high standard of excellence you should expect from your veterinarian. As pet owners, we realize the importance of your pet's health and well-being in maintaining the special bond present between people and their pets.
Services
All surgeries receive a pre-surgical examination, pre and post-operative pain medications, intraoperative monitoring and optional pre-anesthetic bloodwork. Pre-anesthetic bloodwork is highly recommened for all patients to insure they are healthy enough to undergo anesthesia; in some cases pre-anesthetic bloodwork will be required.
Did you know that during the different stages of our pets lives they need more specialized care, just as we do as we get older? Here at State Road Animal Hospital we understand the need for more comprehensive & diagnostic care for aging pets and have developed a program designed especially for them.
In order to meet the guidelines for standard of care that have been established by the American Association of Veterinary Cardiologists and the American Heartworm Society, we will no longer be able to offer the option of declining an annual heartworm test. In order for your pet(s) to be on a heartworm preventative, they must have a current (within one year) physical exam and a negative heartworm test.
North Carolina State law requires any dog or cat 4 months of age or older to be vaccinated against rabies. The owner must be able to provide proof of current inoculation. During clinics, you must provide PROOF of a current rabies vaccination to receive a 3 year vaccine. This should be a paper record from another veterinary hospital, animal shelter, or animal control organization.
The Good Samaritan Fund is comprised solely of customer donations. It's purpose is to help established clients of State Road Animal Hospital that fall on hard times and have an unforeseeable emergency with their pet. The staff, as a whole, vote on who is eligible and the amount dispersed. The amount is not to exceed a set percentage of the fund.

This place is amazing Dr. Brown, Constance and all the girls up front were so good. We carried a stray my daughter found in she was in bad shape starved and mange with no hair. They immediately jumped in and started working on her. We went from this to a fully healthy little girl. She is now a member of our family forever.

The staff here were very nice. They helped my family cat of 12 years. They also still had the records of her (Butterscotch) from 10 years ago. I had previously been going to Riverview Animal Hospital on 115 in Wilkesboro. The staff there is also a nice but sometimes they are very rude about what they're trying to do with your animals and treat you like you don't treat your animals well. I will be moving all of my 10 cats to State Road Animal Hospital for further Medical needs.

Just moved to the area and this is definitely going to be my new vet. It's a 30-minute drive, but it was worth it. They were able to give me some advice before I could bring my dog in, worked my dog in faster than the competition, spent time actually thoroughly checking my dog's health and interacting with her, have good explanations regarding her treatment, and didn't overcharge for their services or the medications. Best vet experience I can remember having in a long time. At least one of those elements is usually missing.

My first visit to this location. Clean modern facility with multiple exam rooms. Not only was the staff courteous, but also very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to comfort the animals and the owners as well! Highly recommend!

Compassionate, knowledgeable staff. They took their time with my very nervous older dog which helped him relax during his visit. The next time we visited, he was more comfortable. I'm grateful to have found this wonderful vet clinic!

Awesome people and saw my dog when he needed to be seen. His usual vet wouldn't see him for almost a week and he was unable to walk on 1 of his feet😡. Guess State Road will be his new vet from now on. Prices were not bad as well. Thank you very much for caring as much as you do.

Friendly and caring staff. Only complaint is seems to take a while to get an appointment. However that can also be a sign of happy pets and their families that like to be seen there. I've always took our Harley here and will continue to do so.

State Road Animal Hospital is the very best in the business. We have always gotten Fred Brown, DVM and he is just awesome with any animal you put in his hands. The staff is courteous and friendly as well. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
