Russian Ballet Academy
If you have had a chance to read Artur's bio under the Faculty section, you know that Artur was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, and that he received his training with the famous Vaganova Ballet Academy. After dancing with several professional ballet companies, Artur and his wife, Cynthia, came to Portland in 2003 when he joined Oregon Ballet Theatre as a principal dancer.

In 2010 Artur and Cynthia opened Sultanov Russian Ballet Academy, a pre-professional ballet school. The first studio was located in Cedar Mill on Cornell Road near Bales Findley Market. It opened with just 20 students. Artur and Cynthia's son, Shane, was 10 months old. Artur retired from Oregon Ballet Theatre in 2012 to teach at his ballet academy full time.

I have 2 daughters training at this academy with Artur, Raisa and Megan.

We talk so much about the grace, strength and discipline that our girls and boys develop from training at this outstanding studio, but I want to praise the way every instructor - including those guests during the Summer Intensive training - places tremendous importance on each child's self esteem and the way these girls and boys have been given a platform for developing such incredible self confidence.

SRBA is an amazing ballet school, with kind teachers who are mindful and respectful. The techniques are on point, and all shows are professionally choreographed by the owner, Artur. SRBA has been the best choice for our 10yo daughter who looks forward to every class. She has been excitedly attending for one year, and has performed in 6 beautiful shows.

I love this studio. It is a great prepro ballet studio. All of the teachers are encouraging and helpful. I have improved so much as a dancer in my time training at the studio. I definitely recommend the studio if you are looking for a good preprofessional studio.
