He studied biology at Dordt College in Iowa; however, he did not know where it would lead him.
Provide internship and mentorship positions for the Bellingham Technical College (BTC) Veterinary Technician Program. Providing veterinary care and services for the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol dogs for over 25 years. Dr. Aupperlee currently serves on the advisory board for BTC's Veterinary Technician Program (since 2006) and serves as the community member on their Institutional Animal Care and Use (IACUC) committee (since 2010).

We absolutely love this Veterinary Hospital. The doctors and staff are wonderful. They geniunely love our pets and give them the very best care. They are also very fun an personable, we enjoy interacting with them. We have used Whatcom Veterinary Hospital for over 25 years, even after we moved to a town further away. THANK YOU for helping Zelda and her family! You saw my friends post on Facebook looking for help with her cat… who was having trouble breathing. My friend and her family have been through so much the last couple of weeks. Their home was flooded, they lost both cars and many possessions. They just returned home a few days ago. Part of the home is gutted but live able until it can be fixed. Zelda started having trouble breathing, she looked like she was gasping for air. We recently had an emergency after our dogs were attacked and needed attention. Our usual vet - Dr. Lisa Donaldson - was on duty and immediately attended to the most injured dog. Staff and vet team showed care, concern, and skill in managing our crisis. Previously - only 4 days before - our dog had routine care for dental cleaning. Everyone showed such compassion both visits. This is a consistent state this veterinary hospital in providing care for animals and the people they own. I highly recommend Whatcom Veterinary Hospital!

Traveling, far from home, and my dog got into rat poison. Without hesitation, they agreed to see her as soon as I could get her there, which involved a ferry ride and some mileage. Handled her with great care and kindness, and got her through it with ease. Clear explanations of the problem, their actions, the follow up meds, and very reasonable fees. So grateful. Highly recommend! 👍

As a breeder of both Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and French Bulldogs, we have a very consistent need to stay connected… to our veterinarian resources. We just put our precious 3 year old dog down today. I can't truly express how amazing this clinic was to us over the last week. The support and love shown to our dog and to us was truly beautiful. They listened, handled our tears and distress with so much compassion. Their quick responses and help through a truly shocking week was amazing. I… would call and ask a question and expect a call back and instead have a doctor on the phone with me in a few seconds... when we made a decision today that we wanted her to be at peace...they let us come in immediately and with so much love and compassion
