At the turn of the century my great grandfather and grandmother, George and Golda Scott, purchased this farm. In 1963, when my father graduated from Ohio State with a degree in agriculture, Great grandpa George gave him and my mother the farm. My parents farmed this (along with about 900 other acres) and raised three daughters here.
After my parents' death in 2004 and 2005, I, Dalelene, that middle daughter, and my husband, Dave, and our youngest daughter bought the farm and relocated here from Lancaster. We are so happy to live here. After living "back home" for five years, we decided to use this beautiful farm for more than just a residence.

We stayed there, in March 2019. It was very pleasant. David offered us fresh farm eggs, and the cabin was wonderful. Peaceful and cozy. Being in the hot tub while the snow was falling was quite an experience. I didn't get around to reviewing on VRBO but thought I could at least try here. Highly recommend this stay. Beautiful setting.

This in response to Twin Pistols negative review. I have know the owners personally for over 40 years. Their reputation and family are highly respected in the Athens area community. I have personally used their cabin for out of town guest and have had nothing but rave reviews. As far as the comment on landscaping, what do you want? The pictures on their website accurately portray the property. It is very secluded and private. It is beautiful and peaceful. You can start a fire in the backyard fire pit and gaze at the stars, because there are no city lights dimming your view. If you want manicured

My husband and I chose to stay at Stafford Hill Cabins for Christmas in order to get away and relax. What we experienced was unexpected. We loved our stay so much that we decided to sell our home in the city and move to the country! The serene and tranquil countryside allowed us to forget about life's problems and relax! Further, the combination of the beautiful view, privacy, excellent customer service, and location make this establishment a rare gem. The owners were very friendly and not only allowed us to bring our fur babies, but they even brought us toiletry items that we forgot! It's hard

My wife had just finished a half marathon at 37 weeks pregnant. In the spirit of spontaneity, I decided to offer to treat her to an unplanned stay somewhere nice. The only thing my wife really wanted was a place with a hot tub to help loosen her muscles after her race.
We found this place and made a call to confirm that it had a hot tub and that the cabin was available. We paid a deposit over the phone and made the long drive.

I loved my stay at the Stafford’s Cabin. It has a secluded feel with modern day amenities. We first arrived to see the cabin nestled away on top of the many beautiful rolling hills. Once we arrived at the cabin you can gaze and see the rolling hills from afar. I was also pleasantly surprised to see some wooded area behind the cabin, which gave it a feel of seclusion. The owners thoughtfully placed an area in which you can have a nice cozy fire to snuggle up to, but I have to admit I enjoyed gazing at the night sky in the relaxing Jacuzzi. I just laid back and let the bubbles work their magic

We booked this quaint cabin during the winter, and we were not disappointed! We were greeted with a fresh, warm loaf of homemade bread! Everything was perfect, down to being able to fully enjoy the warm hot tub on a cold, cold night while gazing at the stars! Even when we had difficulty playing a movie (because we are technically challenged) on the DVR, the owner came right over to assist us! We enjoyed the ambiance of the fireplace. We highly recommend Stafford Hill Cabins!!

We truly enjoyed every aspect of our stay! The cabin set atop a hill with beautiful views from every side. A leisurely Saturday morning on the covered front porch in total peace started our day-the only interruption being deer and song birds. The close proximity to Lake Hope and the hiking trails kept us busy. And unwinding with a glass of wine under the star-filled sky in our own private hot-tub crowned the day! The cabin had everything we needed for relaxing comfort.

If you are looking for a place to just sit back and relax, this is the place for you. The Staffords were so accommodating on anything we needed and made us feel invited. The cabin is beautiful inside...a cozy couch to snuggle up on to watch a movie, a lovely balcony to see the gorgeous scenery, and the hot tub to relax and listen to the sounds of nature. This is the place where my husband proposed to me, and it couldn't have been a more perfect place. Clean, inviting, gorgeous view.....these are all attributes of this cabin. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone who needs time away from the busy

We highly recommend this getaway destination. The staffords have created a piece of heaven!!! The cabin is absolutely gorgeous. The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. My husband and I are planning an anniversary weekend in the fall. The cabin is a great escape for any season. The service was beyond excellent.
