Although hearing aids are equipped with the latest technology, daily use over a prolonged period of time can slowly wear them down. All hearing aids will need to get repaired at some point, even with meticulous care and attention. When the device fails to turn on or produce sound and you have tried everything in the manual to get it to work, it is probably time to visit us for repairs.
Today's hearing aids are marvels of technology, with miniaturized computers that perform thousands of complex operations per second. These sophisticated electronics spend most of their time in and around our ears, where they are routinely exposed to earwax, moisture, and debris from the air. Hearing aids have seen major advancements in recent years in terms of water and dirt resistance.
Hearing tests are not only the first step to effectively treating hearing loss, but should be conducted periodically in order to assess your hearing ability throughout your life. In fact, the Better Hearing Institute, a non-profit organization, recommends that everyone get a hearing test at least once a decade until age 50, and every three years after that.
Put simply, assistive listening devices (ALDs) are any devices that help a person with hearing loss to communicate more effectively. Often this takes the form of amplifying sound, but voice-to-text technology also falls under the ALD category. Some ALDs work as stand-alone devices, while others are intended to augment a set of hearing aids.

I have taken my 92 year old mother to the Hearing Care Center in Bristol and Jack has been great with her. She had to get a new hearing aid. He was patient, thorough, and flexible in setting up appointments. I have talked with Peggy on the phone a number of times as well--she has been courteous and able to adjust appointments to meet our needs. I highly recommend this business.
