Our "Black Friday Special" in November of each year kicks off the next year's Camp registration and is the best time to get the week you want at the lowest rate we offer. Camp gets full quickly these days. Note: Day Camp weeks are limited as we transition to all overnight camps as they have become more popular with our parents and campers.
Send us a child whose dream is to ride, dressed, and we got the rest! We accept boys and girls ages 8 to 13. Tip :November of each year we open the next summer's registration: it is the time to get in, we are a very rare type of camp. If you want to learn to ride motorcycles with a bunch of your soon to be best friends.

Iron Horse Country Ranch is a good old-fashioned, real summer camp experience for your child. Our campers learn how to ride off-road motorcycles, known more commonly as "dirt bikes" - in part as a way to teach them an exciting skill they will keep for life, but mostly as a way to get them into the great outdoors doing something active and fun with other kids.
We will actively begin our search for Summer 2022 Coach/Counselor and Ranch Hand positions beginning early '22. All positions require a love for being outdoors, an affinity for engaging with children and the physical, mental and emotional ability to help us run our summer camp ranch resort in all the things we do.
One of the greatest experiences your child will ever have is to drive an off-road motorcycle. It would have been rare to think 20 years ago, that a summer camp like this would not even exist today. But that is the reality, and this is our motivation - giving kids a chance to ride at one of the only motocross summer camps in the country.
Food is very important at Iron Horse Country. The motorbikes aren't the only things we need to fuel up throughout the day, after all. And, we've come a long way over the last decade in what we offer to our campers and how we do meals. We know we're scoring big whenever parents tell us that their child "raves" about the lunches or brags that they get to eat as much as they want all day long.
Mr. Turner likes to tell parents, "Dress them like they're playing baseball and sliding into first base". WATER BOTTLE! - regular, full size (25 oz for example), refillable with pull-out/flip out drinking spout. Very important! Please, no Ozarka/Dasani-type water bottles meant for single use and no jugs - too big/not easy for camper to manage with one hand.

Can't say enough good things about this camp. We have two girls and were a little nervous to send them for a week with a bunch of boys, but they made them feel completely at home. The staff takes kids' safety seriously and at the same time are very friendly. Our girls were literally crying as soon as they got home because they already missed being there. Such a gem!

My son has attended Iron Horse for at least 6 years and he loves it. He started when he was 7 with absolutely no riding experience at all, and Mr. Turner and the staff took great care of him. My son loves this camp and the friendships he has made. For the past two years he has been fortunate enough to be able to attended overnight camp, and says that it is even more fun because of the extra riding time and nighttime activities. If your looking for a great camp that gets your kids off their phones and away from the video games look into Iron Horse!

My boys LOVE LOVE LOVE coming to dirtbike camp each summer. It is absolutely one of the highlights! They have since encouraged a friend and a cousin to come too. I love it because they are OUTSIDE... they are meeting new kids... and quite frankly, the more time my boys can have understanding how to use the power of an engine properly before they get behind the wheel of a car the better!

Iron Horse Country is by far the best camp experience our son has ever had. First time we did not get a call from a counselor, because he was super motivated by the whole experience. We highly recommend this camp and the Turners are wonderful people. Our son is hooked on dirt bikes, which is a nice change from hooked on video games.

This place it GREAT! My son begs me to go each summer. If he had his way, he'd spend ALL summer here! He's 10, and has the goal of working here as a camp counselor when he's old enough. The entire staff is so wonderful, they've made it incredibly easy for us to attend from so far away. My son takes a bus from Steiner Ranch each day.

Best summer camp in Austin for 8 to 15 year old boys hand downs. Creates confidence and Mr. T the Owner and Director is patience and helpful. The provided bus is clutch! For us living in Westlake we were able to drive to the elementary at 2222 and 620 for pickup and drop off. The kids there also were kind to my Son in every way. That makes a massive difference. Safety is preached and taught. Dirt bikes are cooler than video games and Iphones. For a Father hoping to raise a young man in life book this camp. His Mom needed convincing but was very pleased. Cant recommend enough. One of the pics posted

Mr Turner, his family, Andrew, and all staff have made this a hit of my son's summer for going on 7 years. Iron Horse offers an awesome experience to safely learn to ride motorcycles, as well as providing an outdoor experience on an amazing ranch with guys and gals all sharing the same passion for riding. My only warning is to be prepared for your child to come home requesting a motorcycle, a ranch, and wanting to spend the entire upcoming summer at Iron Horse. Treat your child to this wonderful experience, it will not disappoint.

What an amazing opportunity Iron Horse Ranch and the Turners provide! My son attended for the second year this summer. First year we attended via the train from downtown Austin. Year two we did the overnight camp. My son actually asked if he could ride the train instead of staying overnight, but after experiencing the overnight camp we are planning our future around future camps and ride days! He doesn't care how he gets there, he just wants to get there! The camp is organized, focused on safety, encourages teamwork, having fun. The Turners are wonderful and pour so much into the camp and these

This is hands down my son’s favorite summer camp. He has been to three week long camps and many ride days. Every visit to Iron Horse ends with him happy. I love that the camp focuses on safety and team work. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. They even take the time to take lots of pictures throughout the week so you can see what your child was up to. You and your child will love coming here year after year.

My son is 12 now and is going back to Iron Horse this summer for his 3rd year in a row. He could not stop talking about it when he got home from camp each day. He loved the staff and now has his own dirt bike and is amazing on it. I recommend it for both girls and boys and if you don't know how to ride a dirt bike don't worry because you learn at your own speed. So check it out - it is the best camp he's ever done!
