After graduating from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2009, Dr. Chase Ratliff began his veterinary career in a mixed animal practice and equine referral facility in Northern California. He spent three years there honing his animal husbandry skills that began on the farm where he was raised in Colorado City, Texas.
Utilizing state-of-the-art patient monitoring, we routinely perform procedures under general anesthesia that have been shown to extend and improve your pet's life. Your pet's comfort during the procedure and through the recovery process is very important to us.

This is why we use the latest anesthetic protocols and pain management techniques, allowing almost all of our surgical patients to return to the comfort of their homes and families the same day.Our pets are at risk for developing many of the same conditions we are, many of which require surgical intervention.
Problems with your pet's bones and joints can be due to traumatic injury, malformations at birth, old age or obesity. Our mobile digital x-ray unit of the highest quality helps us to devise the most appropriate treatment plan for any orthopedic condition. We are able to surgically correct and manage many of these problems in the clinic, or if needed, we will refer and work with excellent orthopedic specialists.

Popped in on a Saturday morning (what vets are open weekends?!) at 8am and a friendly staff lady scanned this stray for me to see if they were chipped.
Very friendly, thanks Chimney Rock Animal Hospital!

Dr. Ratliff and staff have been taking care of our animals (including cows) since he took over the practice since Dr. Williams. They are compassionate and considerate of your pets needs, even when delivering news that you may not want to hear. Our Ava is in the end stages of her life, but I know her quality of life has been given the best chances with the help of Dr. Ratliff and all the staff. Thank you so much for always being there for our animals.

Kind, friendly, helpful, and a place I'd recommend to at least give a whirl when you're looking for places that will give the time of day to try to help you with your beloved pets

Dr. Ratliff did a quality of life exam on our precious 13 year old Kricket and discovered she had a tumor on either her spleen or liver. She had been going down for a couple of weeks, not eating, losing weight, unable to chase cats that she loved so dearly. We decided to let her go and Rest In Peace, by far the hardest decision we have ever had to make. The staff and doctor were very compassionate and did not rush us in any way. Her passing was quick and painless much better then it would have been if we would have been selfish and kept her “alive” and allowed her to pass at home possibly alone

We have visited two other veterinarians in Abilene, and we had not been impressed. Chimney Rock Animal Hospital was able to work us in on short notice. Everyone was cheerful and professional. Dr. Ratliff performed a thorough examination of our dogs and spent extra time to make sure all our questions were answered, even though they were working us in on short notice. We will definitely be returning to Chimney Rock Animal Hospital in the future.

My precious Beauregard was loved by all. When he got sick with pancreatitis, Dr. Chase Ratliff worked so hard to make BeauBear better and better Beau got. Except the treatment to heal Beau's pancreatitis caused an autoimmune illness and the treatment for that caused Beau's liver to malfunction. Throughout it all, Chase and his team were compassionate, caring and respectful of not only our emotions (knowing how much Beau meant to us) but of our finances. I honestly believe Chase and the rest of the staff at Chimney Rock Animal Hospital have the best interest of our pets in all they do. Beau will
