Services
Our vets offer preventive care, wellness exams and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Our ultrasound and digital x-ray capabilities help to minimize invasive surgery and better diagnose. Dental care is an essential part of your pet's overall health to prevent dental disease and tooth loss.
Abilene Veterinary Clinic offers preventive care and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Bringing your pet to one of our veterinarians for a physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep them healthy. Exams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues and allergies.
At Abilene Veterinary Clinic, our goal is keeping your pet happy and healthy. Thanks to modern diagnostics and our on-site laboratory, we're able to do just that for sick and injured pets. Diagnostic imaging allows us to examine your pet's internal organs and body systems to better diagnose their conditions.
Dental care is an essential part of your pet's overall health. When oral hygiene is neglected, pets can develop dental disease which negatively affects other systems in the body and may lead to tooth loss. A pet's dental health is just as important as their physical health, however, it often goes overlooked.
Abilene Veterinary Clinic provides veterinary surgical care and services for cats and dogs. Using state-of-the-art equipment and an experienced team, we'll provide your pet with high-quality surgery in a safe, stress-free and relaxing environment. Our team of skilled veterinarians and technicians are ready to provide your pet with a range of surgeries.

Some of the most heartless people work here! I had a sick kitty and tried to call repeatedly only to get a busy signal each time. Got my kitty loaded up and headed there and kept trying to call. When I arrived, 2 people were chatting behind the desk. No one was one the phone. Told them I had a sick cat and could they please see him. They looked at me and said they closed in 20 minutes and WOULD NOT SEE HIM! Another lady came out and I asked again to make sure I heard them clearly refuse to take a look at my sick kitty. I was told they close in 20 minutes and I needed to go somewhere else. The Emergency

Took my golden retriever in this morning because her face was crazy swollen from what we think was an allergic reaction from a wasp/bee sting. The vet was quick to see her and get her fixed up. They were all very friendly and provided quick service for my dog. I was able to return to work quicker than I imagined and I didn't spend a fortune like I was afraid I would. Will continue to go here and bring my other dog here as well for shots and anything else that may come up. Thank you, Abilene Veterinary Clinic!

Our Sheltie, Tatum, (not an old dog) struggled with kidney failure for 8 weeks. We were realistic, but wanted to do all we could. The staff was so kind, and patient, and empathetic, with us.
Ultimately, she was put to sleep and Dr. Ellis was amazing. My 10 year old daughter and I accompanied her, and Dr. Ellis told us what to expect. She was peacefully put to sleep with all 3 of us loving on her. I highly, highly, recommend this true "family" of people for your pet care. They are amazing.
Thank you, thank you, to this clinic for loving our other "sister" and "daughter

Very unhappy with this place. I've been coming to this vet since August 2018 and have never had a good experience. The receptionist who answer the phone are either always extremely rude (may i reminds you they're rude to a PAYING customer) or act like they can't hear a word you're saying. In addition, I took my pup in for ringworm and they charged me $140 for a scan that only picked up 1 of her 4 spots (her other 3 are giant welts and one was on their face and the vet didn't even notice that one.) In addition, they charged me the same price as my friend who also had a pet

Wow- the most idiotic business I've ever been to. They injected my dog with heart worm prevention after I told them not to. Then expected me to pay for flea medicine that was more expensive then the dual pills I usually get my dog for flea/heart-worm prevention. If you mess up- then you need to honor that. We were very loyal customers that spent hundreds of dollars in this place and the fact they wouldn't honor their own disorganization just lost them two customers. Seriously pathetic- what kind of place are y'all running here? The lady on the phone response was, "we have plenty

One star only because they put a great performance on as I walked in their clinic for the first time to board my 2 pets on a Thursday. Also, because the only way to post a review was to chose a star. Well played!!!
We had only been in Abilene for a month. The staff was aware its was the first time we were boarding and that we were from out of town. We headed off to see our son in Orlando as he was proposing to his girlfriend. So it was a very special occasion for us. The excitement soon ended as we were receiving alerts of a tornado and it's was in the area of the clinic. Not being completely

Thanks to these fine and loving folks, Sonar, our half-bobcat is so much better this morning. He was a little hungry and is rubbing up against us which is something he hasn't done in 3 days prior to yesterday. We're so thrilled. I told the doctor we would be praying for Sonar and we have and are but for sure, your special care - all of you, made a great difference. We want everyone to know of the special love you showed Sonar.
Sonar is 9 but when he was a baby he came home in EA's pocket from Anson where the woman bred cats and bob-cats. He was 5 weeks old and never cried one

First off like others have said they practically hold your animal hostage and do not examine your pet with you in the room, They "examined" my elderly dog saying she was just over weight and the tumors that were all over her body were "fatty tumors" and that she was infested with fleas (she had 1 flea on her, probably from the office) and tried selling me 200.00 worth of flea meds, this was a wellness check i might add. i recently took her to big country vet (AMAZING PEOPLE) and it turned out my dog was in the end stages of kidney failure!!!! which this vet decided to not even

We have taken our two dogs here for check ups and Dr. Keegan is a good comedian but a better vet. Last weekend we adopted a 3 year old dog from the shelter and it had ticks, fleas, and kennel cough. When the vet tech came in he was experienced with shelter dogs and immediately began removing the ticks. He then spent 20 minutes answering all of our questions without rushing us at all. I could tell he loves dogs because ours was abused but warmed up to him quickly. Dr. Keegan came in after the tests were done and I promise you he will make you laugh by saying something outlandish. Really good people

The only reason that I am given a two is money. I brought in my four dogs to get the rattlesnake vaccine and was charged four office visits!!!! Forty dollars each sure adds up plus the vaccine itself. When I called to schedule the appointment there was no mention of charging me for four appointments just one. I have emailed them and hopefully we will come out with a good outcome. I would like three of those office visits back. Are they hurting for money? Otherwise it was a good visit. The techs even came out to help me unload and load up the dogs. Very appreciative of that!!!! Well we shall see

Boarded my dog here this last weekend and agreed to boarding, grooming, and the necessary annual/6mo vaccines. When I pick her up, I find out that they did an entire procedure on her WITHOUT informing me and gave me a bill of over $400. When I spoke to Dr. Ellis about it, he was extremely condescending and made me feel like I was neglecting my pet. I am an animal advocate through and through and would spend my life savings on my pets, but to perform a procedure without my consent is wrong. They removed a majority of the costs associated with the procedure, but all I can say is that they're

The staff is always friendly and willing to explain whatever we need to know. Both Dr Ellis and Gardner have been good with our pets and we have no complaints. As far as expense, they might be a bit pricey-er, but they are very honest. They caught a mistake and brought it to OUR attention and corrected their error with a credit immediately!
