Ruth is a no nonsense, very experienced lawyer who will go to bat for you. I didn’t want a chihuahua, I wanted a pitbull; and that’s what you get with her. She will fight for what you want and what your children need. She is reasonably priced and she always asked about how the kids and I were doing. She is the lawyer you want in your corner budget or not. I felt very confident with her. She helped me to attain above the normal Child support percentage; which I desperately needed with four children. She helped make my home refinance possible. I spent a fraction of the price my ex husband paid

Critical: Professionalism, Quality
One of the worst lawyers in Madison. She should be called Rude Westmont. Very unprofessional. You’ll be better representing yourself.

Dealing with Ruth was one of the most appalling experiences of my life. Much worse than my divorce itself. I lost a very nice house as well as all the equity I had invested in it. I did not receive child support that I had paid for a child that wasn’t mine because Ruth lost my paperwork and accused me of never supplying it. She is aggressive and will raise her voice and get very flustered with you if things do not go her way. She was extremely immature and would become loud and rude in court, on top of already being late, unprepared, and with multiple grammar/name/date mistakes on what paperwork

I purchased the Hyatt legal plan through my work so that my husband and I could create a will. Westmont Law showed up as the nearest firm covered under the plan so I called to schedule an appointment. When I talked to the receptionist I said that we had the Hyatt legal plan and would like to set up time to create a will. She scheduled an appointment for me a few weeks out. The day before the appointment she calls back and says they have a conflict and need to reschedule so we moved the appointment to the following week. When we show up for the appointment the receptionist says hi and then sends

I had a real bummer of an initial consultation with Ruth. She is very direct, and even raised her voice during our conversation. It was aggressive and uncomfortable. She did the dramatic take off the glasses move and everything. This skill is probably useful in the courtroom and may even be a byproduct of it, thus the second star - but it seemed unnecessary in this context. Take my word for it; If you found Ruth online you are probably not her target client. Move on.

Ruth did not represent me well during my divorce. To start off, I could not meet with her when needed, but she did email back which, of coarse, cost money every time. When we did go to court, the final paperwork given to the judge was not only inaccurate but it had someone else's name in it! Finally, when she sent me my final bill it was inaccurate... she almost over charged me by $800! I feel that because I settled prior to trial I was given second rate service, which made a very emotional, stressful and difficult time in my son's and my life even more difficult when Ruth should have reassured

Ruth Westmont is a very smart and compassionate family attorney who knows her stuff and cares about her clients. She was always available on the phone or via email and responded to any question or concern we had, not only promptly, but with compassion. She genuinely cares for her clients. In my personal experience, Ruth is one of the best attorneys in town, period.
She represented my son in a custody/placement matter. Her office came highly recommended to us by a friend of mine. We went in for our free consultation and felt welcomed by the entire staff. Ruth spent time going over our case with

I highly recommend Ruth Westmont. I hired Ruth to represent me in a child support and visitation case. I could not have asked for better representation! Having her on my side lifted a big weight off my shoulders. She made me feel like I finally had someone fighting for me and my rights as a father. During our hearing it was clear that she had the most experience out of anyone else in the entire courtroom. The commissioner ruled in our favor and I am so glad that she was my lawyer!
